Speed is my favorite attribute in Splinterlands because it increases the chances of my monster dodging attacks and also increases the chances of it attacking first.
When speed is combined with the right abilities it becomes even more incredible in battle. Examples of abilities would be Flying, Dodge and Blind, these abilities increase the chances of the monster dodging attacks in battle. With these abilities and a high speed, the monster becomes a true machine for dodging attacks.

I will use this battle as an example, in it speed was incredibly useful because attacking first gave me a great advantage over my opponent and despite not having any monster with the Flying and Blind abilities, I have the Tenyii Striker with the Dodge ability.
Dodge - This ability gives the monster a +25% chance to dodge melee and ranged attacks in battle.
My main strategy in battle is to increase the speed of my monsters and for that I used 1 summoner and 3 monsters that will help me in this strategy, they are Conqueror Jacek, Scavo Chemist, Supply Runner and Countess Sinash.
Conqueror Jacek - This is the summoner I chose for the battle and he will increase the speed of all my monsters by +2 and also grant them the Scattershot and Piercing abilities.
The Scattershot ability will make my monsters randomly attack my opponent's monsters.
The Piercing ability will make the excess damage caused to the armor be caused to the health of my opponent's monster.
Scavo Chemist - This monster has the Slow ability and this means that it will decrease the speed of all my opponent's monsters by -1 while he is in battle.
Supply Runner - This monster has the ability Swiftness, which means it will increase the speed of all my monsters by +1 while it is in battle.
Countess Sinash - This monster has the ability Swiftness, which means it will increase the speed of all my monsters by +1 while it is in battle.
These were my main choices to increase the chances of my monsters attacking first and also increase the chances of them dodging the attacks of my opponent's monsters.
In addition to these 3 monsters, I also selected +2, which were Arkemis The Bear and Tenyii Striker.
Arkemis The Bear - This monster will be my main defense in battle and it has the ability Protect, which means it will increase the armor of all my monsters by +2.
Tenyii Striker - This is the monster I chose to defend my backline, it has the ability Dodge, which means it will have a +25% chance of dodging melee and ranged attacks in battle. If you combine this ability with the amount of speed he will have with the buffs, then the Tenyii Striker will become a very difficult target to hit and therefore becomes a great defense for the backline.
Unfortunately my strategy will not work as I wanted because my opponent used the same strategy as me and since his monsters also have the Scattershot ability, they will randomly attack my monsters and this means that the Tenyii Striker will not be very useful to defend my backline since any of my monsters can be targeted.
Although my opponent used the same strategy, I had an advantage called Scavo Chemist, it was because of this monster that I was able to attack several times first and in this battle where speed decides everything it was of great importance.
There were 3 rules in the battle, they are: Lost Magic, High Five and Aimless.
Lost Magic - In this rule, players cannot use monsters with magical attacks in battle.
High Five - In this rule, players can only use up to 5 monsters in battle.
Aimless - In this rule, all monsters of both players receive the Scattershot ability.
This is the type of battle I like to watch because it is fun and at the same time it can be stressful since luck is involved when there are monsters with the Scattershot ability in the battle, but the important thing is to always win with speed because that way you will have the advantage in the battle.
After long and fun rounds I managed to emerge victorious, but I have to admit that a good part of my victory was due to luck since my monsters hit the right targets and also because I was able to dodge more attacks than my opponent.
