I was testing some new strategies in Splinterlands and decided to do a crazy experiment in one of my battles to see how it would turn out and it turned out much better than I expected.
To start talking about my experiment, I will show you the battle where it happened.
Link to the Battle
This is the battle I am talking about and it may seem like I am at a huge disadvantage in it since my opponent has twice as many monsters, but quantity is not always the answer and in this battle I will demonstrate how having a good strategy can be the best choice in your battles.
In the battle there are 2 rules which are the Up Close & Personal rule and the Equalizer rule.
Up Close & Personal - In this rule, players can only use monsters with melee attacks in battle, so monsters that only have melee attacks or magic attacks cannot be used, but monsters that have melee attacks and ranged attacks or melee attacks and magic attacks can be used in battle.
Equalizer - In this rule, all monsters will start the battle with the amount of life of the monster that has the most base life in the battle. An example would be my monster Djinn Chwala, which has 10 base life, so all monsters in the battle will have 10 base life.
My strategy for the battle is very simple. First, I used the summoner Camila Sungazer. She will reduce the melee attack of all my opponent's monsters by -1. Since the Up Close & Personal rule exists in the battle, it will be very useful since all my opponent's monsters will be affected by this debuff.
After selecting my summoner, I went to choose the monsters and for this battle I selected Djinn Chwala, Vampire Bat and Venator Kinjo.
Djinn Chwala - This monster will be my main source of damage in this battle, he has 4 melee attack and also has the Thorns ability that will cause 2 physical damage to the monster that attacks him with a melee attack. In short, Djinn Chwala will cause damage both in attack and defense, so he is one of the best choices when the Up Close & Personal rule exists in the battle.
- In addition to the Thorns ability, Djinn Chwala also has the Enrage ability that will increase his speed and his melee attack by +50% when he is not at full health. Djinn Chwala also has the True Strike ability, which gives him a 100% chance of hitting the target with the attack.
Vampire Bat - This monster will not be able to attack in the second position, but that won't be a problem because its function will be to dodge attacks since it has a good amount of speed and also the Dodge and Flying abilities.
- The Dodge ability will increase Vampire Bat's chances of dodging melee and ranged attacks by +25%. The Flying ability will increase Vampire Bat's chances of dodging melee and ranged attacks from monsters that don't have the Flying ability by 25%. In short, Vampire Bat will have a high chance of dodging attacks and the more attacks it dodges, the more damage Djinn Chwala will cause.
Venator Kinjo - This monster will also not be able to attack in the position I selected it in and its only function will be to increase the damage caused by Djinn Chwala's Thorns ability with its Amplify ability, which will increase the damage caused by Thorns ability by +1, meaning that my opponent's monsters will take more damage.
This is my strategy and if you watch the battle you will realize how incredibly useful it was and even though I was at a disadvantage in the battle, I managed to win.
