There is only 1 day left until the season ends in Splinterlands and my card and SPS rentals are running out, so it's time to open Loot Chests to try to get some more energy so I can battle more often before the season ends and increase my SPS and Glint earnings this season.
With my most recent earnings in ranked battles I managed to accumulate 25,414 Glint and that is enough for 25 Major Chests.
The reason I choose Major Chests is because I will have a better chance of getting energy than opening Ultimate Chests since I will open more chests and also because one of my focuses is to evolve my Soulbounds card collection, so Major Chests are the best choice in my opinion.
The downside of choosing Major Chests is that I will have less chance of getting a jackpot, but considering that I haven't gotten any so far even after opening several Ultimate Chests since I returned to Splinterlands, I don't have much hope of getting one any time soon and I prefer to focus on the Soulbounds cards and my SPS earnings during the season. Maybe I will have more luck with jackpots by opening 150 Major Chests per season than by opening 30 Ultimate Chests.
As I mentioned before, I will open 25 Major Chests with the amount of Glint I have accumulated recently, each Major Chest costs 1,000 Glint and has the following chances of dropping items:
Reward Card - Each Major Chest has a 33% chance of winning Reward Cards.
Potions - Each Major Chest has a 30.99% chance of winning Alchemy Potions or Legendary Potions.
Merits - Each Major Chest has a 20% chance of winning Merits.
Energy - Each Major Chest has a 10% chance of gaining Energy.
Jackpot - Each Major Chest has a 0.01% chance of gaining 1 Jackpot.
My initial focus was on Major Chests, but I ended up opening some Ultimate Chests during the season, so I won't be able to open the 150 Major Chests I wanted, but with the new strategy I'll be using next season, I might be able to open 150 Major Chests and also 30 Ultimate Chests.
I like to use Alchemy Potions when I open Loot Chests because that way I have a better chance of building a collection of Gold Foil cards. It will be much slower than building a collection of Regular cards, but Gold Foil cards are very useful since each one increases the winnings in ranked battles by 10% when used in battle.
I also use Legendary Potions to increase my chances of getting Legendary cards from Loot Chests.
My luck this time wasn't bad, I got some good cards and also got 8 energy so it was a bad chest opening, but I was hoping to get a little more energy to be able to increase my SPS and Glint gains even more this season.
For now I'm going to spend the energy I've gained and the one I'll earn until the season ends, maybe I'll open more Loot Chests since I'll be able to accumulate a little more Glint in these battles.
