My search for knowledge in Splinterlands continues and today I will talk about the Serpent of Eld card.

The Serpent of Eld is a monster from the Untamed edition and it belongs to the water deck. I remember that in the past I really liked using it in my battles because it was one of the cards that had the best chance of dodging attacks in the water deck. When I say in the past I mean in 2022, close to the time when the Chaos Legion edition was released in the game.
Why do I consider the Serpent of Eld a great choice?
This monster has a good combination of attack and defense because it has a powerful melee attack and also has a lot of health and some armor, but what makes it special are its abilities, especially the Dodge ability.
The Serpent of Eld has 3 abilities in total and they are the Dodge ability, Return Fire ability, Poison ability.

Dodge - This ability increases the Serpent of Eld's chances of dodging physical attacks by +25%, meaning that he will have a +25 chance of dodging melee or ranged attacks.

Return Fire - This ability makes the Serpent of Eld return part of the ranged damage he receives, meaning that if a monster with a ranged attack attacks the Serpent of Eld then that monster will receive 50% of the damage it causes to the Serpent of Eld.

Poison - This ability gives the Serpent of Eld a 50% chance of poisoning the monster he hits with the attack, poisoned monsters will suffer 2 damage at the beginning of each round.
As you can see, the Serpent of Eld is a great choice, he will be very useful in attack and also very useful in defense, especially against monsters with melee or ranged attacks.
I remember that I used to hate facing him because he could dodge most of the physical attacks he received from my monsters and for that reason I started to really like monsters with magical attacks, these monsters were perfect for defeating the Serpent of Eld since he can't dodge magical attacks and because magical attacks ignore armor and attack the monsters' health directly.
After I discovered the magical attack monsters of the water deck and the summoner Alric Stormbringer, everything changed and reaching the gold league and even the diamond league at that time was not difficult and I'm not talking about how it is today because before Splinterlands was very competitive since the winnings in ranked battles were very high.
My favorite decks were the water deck with summoner Alric Stormbringer, the earth deck with summoner Mylor Crowling and the fire deck with summoner Yodin Zaku, but nowadays it is very rare for me to use them since there are other great options but I'm thinking about using them again to see what results I can get with them.
