As a Muslim, I agree.

I don't see the right answer in there, I only see him right what God isn't

I guess... Sometimes things are explained by what they are not.

You have point with that.

Sometimes things are explained by what they are not.

But doesn't that leave people to come up with all kinds of opinions. And if so then the spectrum of explanation is next to endless

I don't follow..

Who is God to you then?

I'm not sure about @daniasi's view, but in Islam at least, God is an entity seperate from its creation. So He is not nature, He is not a man, and He is one, so not "gods."

Interestingly, despite using "He" to refer to "Him," in Arabic the pronoun (هو) "he" is the default pronoun for a being that's not feminine or masculine, which in Islam, God is.

So simply the Creator of the creations

Yup!!

Agreed

Good to hear your contribution friend, man's search for God's true definition will continue to be a wonder. As I will always say, the secret to understanding more of our creator is through a personal search for intimacy.

What does "intimacy" means in this context?

Intimacy is a personal search for your creator, aside from what you were told, maybe by your parents or religious leaders.

Ah, makes sense... Despite me finding the answer in Islam, (and even then, I had to search which interpretation of Islam was the closest to the truth, my current understanding is different from the one I was born into,) I'm all for people searching for God in their own way.

So friend, what has been your current personal understanding

It's not much about the fundamentals but the approach.

In Islam we have the holy book Qur'an, but it doesn't have all the teachings of Islam in it. We have the Sunnah/Hadith which are tellings of what Prophet Muhammad ﷺ have said, done and taught his companions. For example: The Qur'an tells us over and over to Pray, but never once told us how to do it. We have countless tellings of how the Prophet ﷺ prayed... Things like these.

The Qur'an tells you the "why," but the approach for "how" gets more vague the more detailed you go...

While the Qur'an is preserved, you'll rarely if ever, see Muslims disagree on Qur'an verses. Sunnah isn't. There are countless Hadiths that are lies spread by people using the Prophet's ﷺ name. Most of the issues between Muslims today come from disagreements about Sunnah/Hadiths.

The "flavor" of Islam I was born into, believed in a lot of Hadiths that I learned later that they were lies, or at least of unknown origin. We had habits that went against the monotheism that Islam preached. (Like setting up a Tree like christian christmas Tree on the date of Prohphet Muhammand ﷺ's birthday. Or songs that pray to the prophet instead of God.) Even if we didn't know at the time. Nowadays I take the origin of Hadith very seriously, and even the most Authentic ones, I won't follow blindly.

Well, I'm not as good as I may sound though, there are things that I know are wrong and I'm still doing them, but at least we're getting there.
