Thunderstorms and Stars....

I'm currently on holiday in Norfolk in the UK, I do love it down here with the quaint little villages with houses that have thatched roofs to the seaside resorts that remind me of places I visited as a kid.

One thing I really do loved around here though is the dark skies, it's great for astronomy, so last night I thought I would go on the beach and try and get the milkyway, there is some strange structure in the water, in which I have absolutely no idea what it is or why it's there, but makes for a great foreground when shooting, slightly in the wrong direction for the milkyway though.

It was pitch black on the beach but I do have a pretty good torch to navigate, I knew where I wanted to be and made my way down to the structure, I kept seeing flashes out of the corner of my eyes, but wasn't sure what it was, whether it was something from the seaside resorts local to where I am staying, I have no idea, but as I set the camera up and started shooting, I soon realised that there was a thunderstorm out to sea.

What was weird is that you couldn't see the clouds, so it looked clear from where I was standing, but on camera it was a different story, on the above shot, I managed to get the milkyway with the Andromeda galaxy, as well as a thunderstorm, I know the milkyway is a but faint on this one as the nearer clouds were visible so it's taking the light from the milkyway, on the horizon you can see to brught lights, the one on the left is where some works or something was taking place, but the bright one on the right is the thunderstorm. Altough it was happening all the way down the coast.

I didn't quite get the shots I wanted last night, however, how long can you get a thunderstorm, the north sea and stars all in one shot, I'm more than happy with these as they give such a surreal feeling and what a beautiful sky it is.

I hope you've enjoyed my shots,

Thanks for reading.

All the best :-)

So much in one picture. That's very cool.

Thanks ever so much :-)

I can’t believe how many stars are in that picture! I’m also a bit confused about the object in the water—what is that?

I’m not sure what the object is either, but as for the stats, it always fascinates me with how many there actually are.

Wow... this look cool 👌👌👌🦊☕ i hope you can make more this photos .
