Greetings and salutations Hivers. Today let's go into another Three Tune Tuesday post.

Today I have an interesting mix for you all. All three are covers, the first two by the same group, a swing jazz indie group and so they are in a similar style, yet different. And the third is another cover, but a bit different.

How's that for mystery, eh? Well let's not waste any time! Without further ado, let's jump in.

Postmodern Jukebox ft. Wild Bill - Stayin' Alive

This is... strange. But not in a bad way. Youtube has enabled exposure to all kind of older music styles. Swing jazz, for instance, has seen a resurgence and become fairly popular with Youtube indie artists these past few years. Another older style that many on Youtube seem to be recent trying out is ragtime. Add in the 1950s rockabilly style and you have this strange cover of Stayin' Alive, which describes itself as a Ragtime Rockabilly Swing cover.

Like I said, sounds weird. But it's a lot of fun seeing how they combine these styles along with this disco hit. See what you think!

Postmodern Jukebox ft. Wayne Brady - Thriller

Speaking of unusual covers, here is another by the same band. This time they are doing a big bang swing jazz version of Thriller. It starts with some Cab Calloway Minnie the Moocher, but then quickly veers into a delightful version of Thriller. Brady does a great job doing a 1930s version of Jackson and we even get some tap dancing to complete the image of the era. Great stuff here!

The 8-Bit Big Band - Duck Tales, Moon Theme

Here is another cover of sorts, picked out by my son. This is a big band and somewhat jazzy cover of the Moon Theme from the NES Duck Tales game. I haven't played the game since I was a kid, but my son discovered it and enjoys it. In the game, most people consider the moon level theme to be the best one and as a result it is often covered by various Youtube bands. Here is one of the better one's I've found. My son liked this so much it's on his playlist so he can listen to it whenever he wants.
