📸 PhotoFeed Contest - Cityscape Photography #81 : Amazing architecture in Budapest

in #hive-15334922 days ago

This beautiful building is found in the centre of Budapest. Behind the well-known Parliament. I don’t know much about this building, but I was in Budapest with my sister and brother-in-law. They told me that when Madonna and Antonia Banderas were filming the musical Evita, part of it was filmed on the balcony of this building. The musical is about the life and death about Eva Perón/ Evita. When she married Juan Perón, the Argentine dictator, she became the first lady in Argentina. From the balcony on the Casa Rosada in Buenos Aires, they talked to the people. Madonna played Evita, while Banderas played Che Guevara. Wow
The musical sounds like something interesting
I’d check it out

We experienced a very special coincidence the same night. When we passed the cathedral there was an otdoor cinema, and the movie? Evita with Madonna and Banderas🙂

I didn't know about that musical, I would like to see it. It is interesting what you mention here and the relationship it has with this building, of important architecture.

Very good shot @digi-me friend! Have a great start of the week.

I saw the movie long time ago. One of the songs is 'Don,'t cry for me Argentina'. Lots of great music tells the story of this very popular first lady who died too young ❤

Awesome! Thanks for the info my friend :)

🙂👍

My Uncle used to work in a circus as a human cannonball.
They eventually fired him.

Thank you much appreciated.

That looks like the Palace of Justice.

I have not seen Evita, but I was in Budapest when it was filmed. The West Train Station (Nyugati) was also used for its set, quite appropriately, for its equally impressive architecture. Never been to Argentina, but if that's what the buildings look like, I would certainly enjoy it.

Si that's what the building is for. It must have been a great experience to have been there during the filming. It is quite a good film, because of the story about Evita. I have been to Argentina and seen the real Casa Rosada in Buenos Aires. Ut is beautiful 🙂

Hahaha, being there for the filming sure was an experience: tons of people trying to see something, but they didn't let them get too close so they wouldn't disturb the set. So there was no point in hanging around. Instead I thought it better to wait for the movie to come out... but then I never bothered watching it. Maybe I should. Though neither Madonna nor the Evita Musical strikes my own chords particularly.

hahaha... yeah, can imagine that! I saw the moovie, but long time ago, but I remember the story about her life. Also, I have been to Argentina twice, seen some of the places she was connected to. The Recoleta Cemetary in Buenos Aires is a unique kind of cemetary, because of it's lay out. The graves look like houses, placed on a row along "streets" like a city. Her grave is here too. That cemetary is a MUST when in Buenos Aires :)

Nice! I'll keep that in mind when visiting Buenos Aires. Not sure when that will be, though.

Hope you do add Buenos Aires to your list. It's a beautiful city with lots of interesting things to discover🙂
