A few days ago in a post that I don't remember now, we were commenting on adapting our vision to the lens we have at that moment. Sometimes it is annoying to exchange lenses on the street, so from this I decided to go for a walk with the kit lens. I almost never choose that lens and for that very reason I made that decision. The idea was taking shape because I had intentions of taking photos of buildings, I wanted to focus on perspectives but I also focused on some reflections and this time they are not puddles.
I went to the area known as Diagonal Norte where there are many emblematic buildings. I could see how one building was reflected in the windows of another, and this reflection in the first shot was the beginning of a set dedicated to this.
After losing the main objective, I remembered that I wanted to portray buildings from below, in 18mm, seeking to have an interesting perspective or angle. It was harsh light at the time, it was just after 1pm and the sunlight hit the buildings while the streets remained in shadow. I took some photos of different buildings with different styles of architecture but mostly old buildings which are the ones that catch my attention the most. Among these buildings are the Bencich building, I think two of them, the headquarters of the ICBC bank and some others that I don't know their use or any of their history, random buildings.
A very attractive area because in addition to having these beautiful buildings there is also a lot of vegetation, so we can compose images using that.
From the beginning I knew that these photos would be in black and white, I also wanted to play a little with the contrasts and somehow make them stand out more.
This last set is a bonus, the photos were taken with another lens and it was in another neighborhood, in Palermo. Approximately 700 meters between physical streets and main avenues, people crossing the pedestrian crossing, others with shopping carts and other details.
I hope you enjoy these shots as much as I enjoyed taking them. A hug to everyone and have a good day.
That's all folks. Thanks for stopping by and appreciating.
