Comparing Numbers and Finding Your Path
You’ve probably seen a lot of recap reports recently generated from https://recap.hivecreators.co/. Are you also comparing yourself with others? Wait a minute, then this post is for you!
I’ve noticed reports of people creating 365+ posts in a year, while I only wrote 75 posts in 2024. Does that mean they earn more? In most cases, the answer is no. Focusing on quality content always outperforms less thoughtful work. You may not notice the difference now, but sooner or later, you’ll likely reach the same conclusion I have.
If your content gets revisits, referral links to promoted products can continue to pay off. While future mechanisms to reward old content are uncertain, content discovery algorithms and ad revenue could significantly benefit quality posts. Your work might ultimately earn more than you currently expect.
My Top Post from 2024
Beyond the Abaya
This is one of my finest works, and it took me around 15 days to create. I asked for input from my sister, father, and best friend to rewrite certain sentences. For example, I initially depicted one of my characters as Qadiyani but changed it based on their feedback. Additionally, I edited a sentence where I portrayed the "Syed" family in a way that could reinforce stereotypes. Why all this effort? Because I strive for perfection! It’s not about earnings but about sending a meaningful message to my readers.
Has this post stopped making money for me? Not really. There are countless ways to earn from quality work even after the 7-day payout window. For instance, I could publish it as a physical hard copy in Pakistan. The sky’s the limit when it comes to monetizing quality content.
A Note to Those Feeling Left Behind
I understand the feelings of frustration when you think you’re working harder but others seem more fortunate. Remember: hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard. Don’t lose hope as content creators.
If your primary goal is money, consider exploring other avenues beyond content creation alone. Reflect on what truly matters to you. Comparing yourself to flashy numbers can lead to negative vibes, but you never know the full story behind someone else’s success. What responsibilities do they carry? What struggles do they face? Do you really want to be like them? Think twice.
Is Life a Numbers Game?
I personally don’t think so. Be grateful for being alive, as life itself is a precious gift. As long as you’re alive, there’s hope to achieve anything you can imagine. Luck plays a role, but do Hive metrics define success in life? Again, I don’t think so.
If you feel down after seeing others’ yearly recap reports, take a moment to pause. Go for a walk, and think about what truly matters. Reflect on the meaning of happiness and fulfillment in your life.
A New Perspective for 2025
I hope that in 2025, you’ll start thinking outside the box and focusing on what truly matters in your life. Let’s make it a year of gratitude, growth, and meaningful achievements!
