Hello Hivers: A Quick Update
It's been over a month since I last posted. Before diving into today's topic, I’d like to share a brief update on my absence. This month, I experienced the loss of four relatives, each passing away at different times, in different places, and from separate households. I attended all their funerals, which made it a time of deep reflection about life. Despite this, I also experienced moments of joy. Spending over a month in a village environment as a city boy was a unique and enjoyable experience. I engaged in all kinds of village activities you can imagine and learned many new things.
Now, coming back to today's topic, why would I like to call 2024 a year of completion?
Why 2024 is My Year of Completion
Graduating in Software Engineering
In Feb 2024, I completed my university degree in Software Engineering. You might be wondering, why is this Hive-related? Well, it's because being on Hive means I need to be active, fit, educated, employed, and well-fed. If I were stressed about my final year project at university, I might have messed up a little as a Hiver.
The Journey to Creating Investment Tokens
In January 2023, I faced a major shock from the corporate world. After working on a few projects, I realized it was time to create my own investment tokens. Why? Sometimes, it’s about seniors not supporting your plans, and other times, it’s budget issues holding back expansion ideas. I believed in my potential and wanted to soar even higher, so I knew I had to aim for more in life.
I started jotting down my ideas in PDF files, refining them as I went. Eventually, I pitched these ideas to the HiveLearners Team (which I was/am proudly a part of), and we began working tirelessly on our plans. By June 2024, we successfully launched the Panda Investment Token. For me, it’s not just another Hive-engine investment token, it’s an emotion.
At the same time, I was developing Pakx, another Hive-engine investment token with a simple yet effective working model. Its true beauty lies in its simplicity and the power of compounding.
Finding Stability in Teaching
In 2024, I came to the realization that I couldn’t rely solely on crypto and risky freelancing to put food on the table every day. I needed to settle for a less risky way of life to ensure a steady income. I spent a lot of time thinking about how I could continue working on the things I loved while also securing a stable source of income.
After much thought, I decided to pursue teaching as a profession. In Pakistan, it’s common for teachers to juggle multiple jobs teaching at one school in the morning, another in the evening, and sometimes even offering personal tutoring or coaching services. It became clear to me that this profession would allow me to continue my online work while also having a less risky, dependable source of income. So, I started teaching at a school.
Engagement
On October 28, 2024, my proposal was accepted, what we call a kind of engagement in our culture. Yes, her family agreed to our marriage in 2-3 years. She’s exactly the kind of girl I had imagined. I can now think about my future with more clarity, and many of my doubts about life have faded away. It feels like every piece of the puzzle is finally coming together, and I can see life with a new sense of direction.
