Hi hi lovely needle workers. I hope you all had a lively and lovely day. I tried my best to. Today was a slow day but I pushed through and I'm just going to spill some tea about this particular outfit, how I got to make it and my clients review.
Sooooo I don't exactly remember who referred to her. But she sent a message saying she wanted this for a beach party that was coming up at her end. I think I rarely get beach wear because I rarely advertise it.
Crocheters in Nigeria, in my state(akwa ibom state) have a thing for mostly portraying crochet wear as only beach wear, you'll rarely see pictures of crochet shirts or tops or trousers on their statuses or stories. It mostly beach inspired outfits.
Mesh trousers, mesh gowns, mesh shirt,mesh top, bra tops, panties, bikini sets.
So in a bid to kind of balance it out so to say. I post the shirts and the tops and the trousers and the tote bags and the gowns. So since I don't post beach wear I rarely get orders for them. When this one came in I was happy. Not like I won't make it. Just a subtle bid to educate people that there's more to crochet than just beach wear and so far so good.
Anyways back to this order she sentvwah she needed we came to an agreement. Picked a color we wanted for the outfit and I also had to get my hands on cowries since it was on the original design as well.
Making this was more fun than I expected it to be and if you've been reading my blog for a while you'll know working mess is something I always have fun doing and trust me I had all of it with this particular project.
I eventually finished up the skirt, my apologies got carried away so my process pictures are not complete. When I finished the skirt dis the bra top next. Used a smaller hook so it will be more enclosed since it was tge only top she was planning to wear.
Moved straight to adding ropes and the teeny tiny designs for the edges of the skirt and top and that was all the work for that fit. Last one was panties and it was finished in record time.
When her outfit was ready for delivery I went on to text her and let her know that it was ready for pick up. She wasn't around so sent a rider the next day and I got my review almost immediately “I haven't tried it on yet but it looks so beautiful” I was so excited because one thing I'll always be nervous about is first time clients never want to scare them away and I'm happy I didn't.
She sent her pictures but asked that her face should be blurred so yeah. Making this was definitely fun but seeing her rock it was defiworth all the time spent on the project.

3.5 mm hook for bra top
4.0 mm hook for skirt
Stitch markers
5 40g yarn
Measurement tape
