Garden Midweek Updates - Cold Weather

in #hive-14063512 days ago

Here’s an update on my garden after eight days. I can now transfer the newly sprouted seedlings, which are already 2 centimeters tall. Meanwhile, the chili plants still need about two more weeks before they’re ready to be transplanted.

I didn’t expect my potato plants to grow and thrive like this. For one, I have no prior experience in planting potatoes aside from what I’ve seen in videos about how and where to get their seeds or cuttings.

To be honest, I didn’t expect my Cherry Tomato seeds to sprout along with the Bitter Gourd. I had grown impatient waiting for the Cherry Tomato seeds to germinate, so I decided to mix them into the soil as compost for the Bitter Gourd. To my surprise, just a week later, I noticed them sprouting alongside the Bitter Gourd.😊 LOL

In another corner, the chili seeds have started to sprout, and there are so many of them! I’ll only select a few to grow while giving the rest to my friends and teaching them how to care for the plants easily. This particular chili variety is known for its high water absorption, so it needs to be watered every other day.

And my favorite is this pumpkin! It’s growing healthy and beautifully, requiring watering every three days during the cold season. Perfect timing for summer when it begins to bloom and bear fruit, ready for harvest in three to four months.

And not to be outdone is my Bitter Melon! It’s starting to grow vines that will spread across the hanging fence I made. I just need to trim the excess branches at the bottom to encourage growth and focus on the upper parts. This plant is quite sensitive to cold, as its leaves and young shoots are easily damaged by freezing temperatures.

That’s it for now. On Thursday, I’ll provide an update on the cherry tomatoes and chili peppers. 😊 Check out @solominer's plants, and be inspired by the way he takes care of his garden.

It is good that you used recycled empty plastic container as Pots. The vegetables you planted grows very well.

Thank you so much. I use organic fertilizer. 😊

It looks like you have a lot going on in your garden. I hope those baby seedlings grow into giant plants!

😊You made me laugh with the phrase GIANT PLANT. Hahaha!
