I woke up this morning to some new dCity updates - we have been waiting for the new Network combines to have some utility and it looks like it has happened! Not only that, there are two whole new tabs on the User Interface, let's check this out!
What is this I don't even....?
Okay, so far we know that there are three networks, each run by a certain type of DATACENTER: HIVE, ETH and BTC - these relate to the tech card you used to combine the building together. All the buildings require the same ingredients to combine, just that you can use either Hive-Mining Tech, Eth-Mining Tech or Btc-Mining Tech.
Combining these advanced buildings requires not only a Mining Operation card of whichever level, but also a Warehouse and an Advanced Management tech card. These things are not all that easy to get! It also requires the 'Bag of SIM' card, which can be purchased for 20k SIM in the 'BUY' menu. This puts a technical cap on the number of Datacenters that can ever be minted, as there will only ever be 20,000 Bags of SIM.
But it seems pretty limited already, according to the Tech Mining screen, there are only 143 Advanced Managements in the game right now - I'm happy to have 5 of them. I think we can start to get an idea about how much of a long term play these new developments are in the future rollout of dCity. There will be lots of new levers to pull, new screens and new mechanics in which tiny changes can lead players to look for an edge by reinvesting their tokens, reorganizing their cities, and generally playing the game.
Back to the DataCenters, it has been announced that they will start to distribute ENTRY, this is a portion of the ENTRY spent in the ENTRY SHOP, another recent development for dCity. @gerber revealed a bit about his plans two weeks ago in the private #datacenters channel of discord, you have to be a SimClub member to get access to this stuff!
So it looks like as of today, with the new interface live (thanks @scriptioner!), this is the release of the so-called 'light version', there are no 'jobs' or 'quests' yet, something like this is still being rolled out.
But with Data Centers producing ENTRY, and ENTRY useful to buy Chaos Packs, NFT hoodies and other NFTs, its seems the great DataCenter competition officially has begun. And @steemshiro seems to be winning - for now.
In order to compete with him, I am going to need some Bag of Sims as well as rolling some new 3rd edition cards.... goodbye sweet SIM, hopefully be seeing you again soon!
...
After buying 500 new cards, I didn't even get a new warehouse, so I will have to resort to decombining 2 of my Industrial Zones.
Don't forget to buy a Bag of SIM - There are still 19,741 of these left, but as combining DataCenters and Temples starts getting more tempting, I suspect this will start to decrease faster and faster.
And now I am comfortably in second place (for now), collecting an additional 11k ENTRY per day, worth somewhere between 0.6 and 1 HIVE per day at the current market prices. So far I have gotten 2 of the very expensive Splinterlands cards that were listed on the ENTRY shop, @d-pend aped me for the Malric but I have my eye on the Armorsmith next!
Now let's look at Religions!
Temple Combine
This just opened up, so nobody has any temples yet - I might be the first one if writing this post doesn't slow me up and allow someone to beat me - let's see this recipe:
The new X, Y and Z religions have a new combine, the temple, each costs the same cards to build, and we can see that Advanced Prayer and Basic Accounting Tech cards have been giving additional utility here. The limiting factor here is likely the church, or possibly Public Restrooms as a card that is out of print and in a lot of combines.
As you can see I have enough of these cards, except for the Bag of SIM that is!
So I can decide which religion I want to throw my weight behind, I am thinking the Y Relgion is for me, because I love so much to ask "Why?"....
Join me as we conquer the spiritual realms in dCity!
Will I, as Supreme Pope of the Y Religion, get to name it in the future? Maybe!
I also see these X, Y and Z temples as a really good use case for Construction sites. Since all temples are the same recipe, you can easily move between religions by decombining and recombining buildings - at the cost of a mere Construction Site card. Let's get to burning them sites!
That's all from me about the new dCity updates - what do you think? Let me know everything in the comments below.
