dCity is introducing some PvP style gameplay into the mix, and @gerber is slowly giving out the details in the SimMillionaire's club. As part of this, he talked about 'jobs' for Hackers, and this made me think of a couple really good ideas, today I want to share them with you all.
I am the CARTEL operator and one of the top dCity players in the world (maybe the top player?), so follow along with my posts if you want to see how its done!
So @gerber has some ideas, but he is open to our ideas. This is one of the great parts of dCity, the team behind it (including @scriptioner) is really active and open to ideas. So last night I remembered this message from @gerber and it got me thinking:
So the idea of 'daily jobs' for hackers is interesting, the concept is that networks will be earning 'points' or 'stacks' and that you just have to have enough education worth of hackers to add up to the job requirement.
You already need a hacker to get into the EntryShop, and discord user 'gfrench' is selling one if anyone reading this wants to buy one, they are quite rare, just a 0.5% chance upon training a student. Their base level is 1 education, and you must use ENTRY to try to train them randomly, until they get to 5, which is the maximum.
Daily Job ideas
Secure election - this has been all around in the news lately, election software is a touchy subject, and all major political parties have whitehats on their team to 'independently verify' that elections are on the up and up. This job could have a chance to appear in the few days before a presidential election and have a reward of some number of points.
Casino Hack - Casinos print daily GAMER tokens, but upon a successful hack of all casinos in a certain network, these GAMERs could be distributed to the datacenters of the successful hacking team instead.
AI hack - We have all considered the dangers of AI, hackers could render unusable the AI within a certain network. The factories of these cities will need to have more workers (2x) available for their factories, until they can get the AI back online.
I also had some ideas for straight out PvP. To initiate a PvP hack, player would need to pay some amount of SIM, which would be 'burned'. PvP hacks would have a % chance of being successful based on level of education of the hackers involved.
PvP Hack Idea
Prison Break - Initiate a hack against a Prison(full) or Prison(with load), releasing criminals back into the game and causing their own negative income and popularity modifiers to come back into play. Affected players could simply load the criminals back into prison, whenever they come back online.
Combine idea
I was also thinking about an idea for a combine, something to get criminals back on their feet to honest citizens, something like this:
Rehabilitation Center - Combination of Prison, School, gym, park, professor, lawyer, soldier, policeman, artist(s) (with education), scientist(s) (with creativity).
Rehabilitation center can be loaded with up to 50 criminals, and will have a chance each day to convert criminal into Student, Worker, scientist, artist or homeless/immigrant.
Precombine stats totals:
Income:8
Popularity:16
Population:8-10
Workers: 49
Education:10-12
Creativity:2-4
War share: 0.1
Tax Rebate: 13
Post combine stats (possible):
Rehabilitation Center
Income: 2
Popularity: 15
Workers: 20
Education: 10
Tax Rebate: 10
This way would be turning basically 3 tax rebate, 6 income and a few other minor stats into the daily possibility of converting criminals into productive citizens. A job center could also be integrated instead of a park, this is just a basic idea to get the wheels turning.
Another idea would be to have a combine building like Rehabilitation center, but to have it burn SIM in exchange for a chance to change criminals into regular citizens.
Ideas for play
Part of the fun in playing an open and evolving game like dCity is the possibility to have ideas and participate in the construction of new developments, even if only academically. In the end the team will decide, but its all fun and games (and roleplay) until they do!
What do you think about the ideas listed above? Do you have any ideas for dCity developments? List them below in the comments!
