Today I was thinking about why it's so difficult to bring new people to Hive and keep them active in this ecosystem.
When I discovered Hive I had huge suspicions, like where does the money come from to pay for the rewards for posts? Is it a pyramid? How do other people's likes turn into rewards?
There were many doubts, including about creating content and choosing communities that made the most sense to me. But my eyes lit up with all the possibilities that Hive offers.
The same doubts I had about Hive, oddly enough, are also the doubts of several people I've invited to join Hive. When I present Hive, at first people get excited about a new way of earning extra income, but when they find out that they'll have to do a bit of work producing content, many of them give up.
I don't introduce Hive to everyone I meet, but I do invite some people I like a lot or know have the profile to be part of Hive. To give you an idea, I must have invited around 10 to 15 people in all my time at Hive.
You may have heard that when something is good we should share it with other people, especially those we like or have friendships with. This applies to many things in life, such as passing on our acquired knowledge or introducing our religion to other people.
But, frankly, I'm getting tired of calling people to Hive and they give up after the first few conversations, or those who get further do at least the introductory post.
I called a cousin (@barretinn) who had a lot of affinity with technology, even set up his gaming PC with money he got from cryptocurrencies, and of course I helped him in this endeavor. I introduced him to Hive, but after about three months of posting content he simply got discouraged.
I also had another cousin (@santana37), who I invited to join Hive. He's very hard-working and was the only person to follow my advice on investing in variable income, here in Brazil it's rare to see a person making investments. But, returning to Hive, he only did the introductory post and never wanted to post again. I even tried to convince him that Hive is a great investment and that I could help him with a new investment, such as cryptocurrencies.
I also called a friend (@diego.andrade), but he only stayed on the introductory post and a few other posts, and soon gave up. Both @santana37 and @diego.andrade said they didn't have time to write because they were tired from work and other obligations.
There are many other cases I could mention here, of people I brought to Hive or invited, but none of them stayed. This is very sad, because Hive offers excellent opportunities for growth. But why can't Brazilians come to Hive?
The first reason is because they want things to be easy. When I tell someone that they have to write 500 words and not use Artificial Intelligence, people already look at me strangely. Another reason is that most people in my country are used to easy things, they want to make money without doing anything or with minimal effort.
Another reason is that some people start off excited, but then find themselves faced with the low votes they receive. My friend @diego.andrade asked me this question, because I make a post similar to so-and-so's, but his post manages to earn more rewards and mine only a few cents. Unfortunately, even after building an engagement network here on Hive and having a few followers or even joining some curation projects, it's hard to earn good rewards. Because there are a lot of groups at Hive who take advantage of voting schemes (we have corruption everywhere).
Finally, it's still very difficult to understand all of Hive's tools. In particular, the tools used for posting are still too complex for most normal people. There is no mobile app that is as easy to use as Instagram, for example.
There are many challenges we face in getting people to come to Hive and stay active. I confess that in this respect I'm frustrated at not being able to bring people to Hive, but I still have faith that I'll be able to bring people to stay on Hive for a long time.

Hoje eu estava pensando porque é tão difícil trazer novas pessoas para Hive e mantê-las ativa, nesse ecossistema?
Quando descobri a Hive eu tinha enormes desconfianças, como de onde vem o dinheiro para pagar as recompensas de postagens? Será que isso é uma pirâmide? Como as curtidas de outras pessoas se transformam em recompensas?
Eram muitas as dúvidas, inclusive na parte de criação de conteúdo e a escolha de comunidades que fizessem mais sentido para mim. Mas, meus olhos brilhavam com tantas possibilidades que a Hive oferece.
Essas mesmas dúvidas que eu tinha sobre a Hive, por incrível que pareça também é a mesma dúvida de várias pessoas que eu convidei para fazer parte da Hive. Quando apresento a Hive, em primeiro momento as pessoas ficam entusiasmada com uma nova forma de ganhar uma renda extra, porém quando elas descobrem que terão um pouco de trabalho produzindo conteúdo muitas delas desistem.
Eu não sou de apresentar a Hive a todos as pessoas que conheço, mas algumas que eu gosto muito ou sei que tem um perfil para fazer parte da Hive eu as convido. Para se ter ideia eu devo ter convidado umas 10 a 15 pessoas, em todo o meu tempo de Hive.
Você já deve ter ouvido falar que quando algo é bom devemos compartilhar com outras pessoas, principalmente as que gostamos ou temos amizades. Isso vale para várias coisas na vida como passar nossos conhecimentos adquirido ou apresentar a nossa religião a outras pessoas.
Mas, sinceramente eu estou cansando de chamar pessoas para Hive e elas desistem logo depois das primeiras conversas ou aos que chegam mais longe faz ao menos o post introdutório.
Eu chamei um primo (@barretinn) que tinha muita afinidade com tecnologia, até montou seu PC gamer com dinheiro que conseguiu com criptomoedas, é claro que o ajudei nessa empreita. Eu apresentei a Hive a ele, mas após uns três meses postando conteúdo ele simplesmente desanimou.
Também tinha outro primo (@santana37), que convidei para fazer parte da Hive. Ele é muito esforçado e foi a única pessoa a seguir meus conselhos sobre investimentos em renda variável, aqui no Brail é raro ver uma pessoa fazer investimentos. Mas, voltando a Hive ele só fez o post introdutório e nunca mais quis volta a postar. Eu até tentei convencer que a Hive é um ótimo investimento e que poderia auxiliá-lo em novo investimento, como criptomoedas.
Também chamei um amigo (@diego.andrade), mas ele somente ficou no post introdutório e alguns outros posts, e logo mais desistiu. Ambos, @santana37 e @diego.andrade disseram não ter tempo para escrever, pois chegam cansados do trabalho e outras obrigações.
Existem muitos outros casos que eu poderia citar aqui, de pessoas que trouxe para Hive ou convidei, mas nenhum deles permaneceu. Isso é muito triste, porque a Hive oferece excelente oportunidade de crescimento. Mas, porque os brasileiros não conseguem vim para Hive?
A primeira razão é porque querem coisas fáceis, quando eu falo para alguém que tem que escrever 500 palavras e não usar Inteligência Artificial as pessoas já me olham estranho. Outra coisa, a maioria das pessoas de meu país é acostumada com a facilidade querem ganhar dinheiro sem fazer nada ou com o mínimo de esforço.
Outra razão é que alguns começam animado, mas depois se deparam com os baixos votos recebidos. Meu amigo @diego.andrade me fez essa pergunta, porque eu faço um posto parecido com o de fulano, mas o post dele consegue ganhar mais recompensas e meu apenas alguns centavos de dólares. Infelizmente, mesmo depois de construir uma rede de engajamento aqui na Hive e ter alguns seguidores ou até mesmo se afiliar a alguns projetos de curadoria é complicado ganhar boas recompensas. Porque na Hive tem muito grupinho, que se aproveitam de esquemas de votos. (Em todo lugar temos corrupção)
Por fim, ainda é muito complicado entender todas as ferramentas da Hive. Principalmente, as ferramentas utilizadas para postagem ainda são complexas para a maioria das pessoas normais. Falta um app de celular que seja de fácil uso igual ao Instagram, por exemplo.
São muitos os desafios que enfrentamos, para que as pessoas venham para a Hive e se mantenham ativas. Confesso que nesse quesito eu fico frustrado por não conseguir trazer pessoas para Hive, mas ainda tenho fé que irei conseguir trazer pessoas que permaceram na Hive por longo tempos.
