As I stepped outside to feed the ducks at the nearby ponds, the atmosphere was thick with mist. The sun, barely visible, was trying its best to break through the fog.
I really enjoy feeding the ducks. I buy very cheap bread at the supermarket and cut it all up so every bird gets a beak full. They are very hungry at this time of the year, but the villagers make sure they are well fed.
Just as I was about to leave, a pair of last year's cygnets came flying onto the pond. They always seem to know when food is about. Unfortunately, they were a bit late to the party as I didn’t have any food left. There was only one thing to do so I went back home to get more bread. It is Christmas after all.
After spending time at the ponds, I decided to venture further into the fields beyond the village. Surprisingly, there wasn’t any fog. It was a bright, sunny day. The contrast was quite different.
The fields were lovely and green and you could see for miles.
I found a painted pebble in the village, so I rehid it, placing it on the wall, in the wood. Hopefully, someone else will find it and rehide it.
Unfortunately, the fields got far too muddy, so I had to cut my walk short and go back home.
