A huge hello to all the wonderful members of this Music Zone community. It is another brilliant week of the Hive Music Festival, week 120, Round 3. It my absolute pleasure to be submitting an entry and watching other people's awesome entries as well.
For this week and this round, I have decided to perform a song titled Easy on me by Adele.
I really have been listening to a lot of heartbreak songs recently, and Adele is probably the Queen of heartbreak songs. The reason is also a bit personal because my girlfriend that I'd been dating for just over 6 months broke up with me exactly a week ago, even though we're kind of discussing a lot of things and may get back together. The reason for that is nothing dramatic as with most breakups, well, maybe it is. She apparently had a sudden religious conviction and it's in conflict with the fact that I'm not particularly religious myself. My stance is that I do not see concrete evidence of the existence of a God, and religion is simply based on somewhat blind faith and belief, which is kinda fine. I just do not think that way coz I like to build my life principles mostly around concrete, proven facts, theories, and principles. The gist is obviously a lot longer than this, but I'll be stopping here so I do not over share, which I have probably done already. Lol.
Anyways, the scenario painted by Adele in Easy on me doesn't really capture the dynamics of my personal relationship, but I just really love the song and its message. I have loved the song since the day the album 30 was released.
It really is always a pleasure to perform for you guys week in week out. I invite you to share in my pain and you listen to my acoustic rendition of this beautifully executed heartbreak song.

Here are the lyrics to this phenomenal piano ballad.
There ain't no gold in this river
That I've been washin' my hands in forever
I know there is hope in these waters
But I can't bring myself to swim
When I am drowning in this silence
Baby, let me in
Go easy on me, baby
I was still a child
Didn't get the chance to
Feel the world around me
I had no time to choose
What I chose to do
So go easy on me
There ain't no room for things to change
When we are both so deeply stuck in our ways
You can't deny how hard I've tried
I changed who I was to put you both first
But now I give up
Go easy on me, baby
I was still a child
Didn't get the chance to
Feel the world around me
Had no time to choose
What I chose to do
So go easy on me
I had good intentions
And the highest hopes
But I know right now
It probably doesn't even show
Go easy on me, baby
I was still a child
I didn't get the chance to
Feel the world around me
I had no time to choose
What I chose to do
So go easy on me
