Yeah am sure the price of BTC now has captured everyone's interest, or at least our collective attention. If you haven't, it'll probably be over your face like a bad Zit as people within the crypto space and beyond are making sure to spread the word. So if you've not been paying attention, am sure you probably are now.
New attention brings about interest that we in the crypto space want, but it also brings about perhaps a lot of opinions and misconceptions about what the crypto space is and stands for. Unfortunately anyone who's coming into crypto now is motivated solely by the price of BTC which means that unless they re-evaluate their stance on what it is to be involved in crypto, we are going to experience situations where many new stakeholders will unfortunately get burned.
I believe for every new investor the burning question on their minds should be whether Bitcoin is still a viable buy at $100k. For most of us that answer of course is yes, but I don't think anyone is wrong to have reservations at such a price. Is investing now in Bitcoin still within the time frame for growth, or is it too late?
For those who cannot confidently answer the question of whether to invest in BTC, there is an alternative. There are actually thousands of them. The Altcoins market is prepping for what I believe will be a major bull run at some point, that will move somewhat independently from Bitcoins pull. With many still in their development stage there isn't a burning question of how appropriate an investment now will be.
We are in for interesting times.
