Till this day, the vast majority of my closest friends are those I've known from Childhood. I've made a few friends over the years but very few ever go that deep into something meaningful. Most of the times we are just acquaintances, and interact when it is convenient. The factors that brought me close to people when I was much younger has certainly changed over the course of time.
Then it felt very natural to like somebody and the flow was never forced, neither was the required energy. It wasn't even something that was noticeable until years down the line when you realize that you've built a lasting friendship over time out of seemingly nothing. Today those set of people remain close to my heart, and there are very few who have gone by the wayside. It is simply because History above everything else has remained a crucial part of the familiarity process.
To me it just shows that you can't take away the importance of history from our actions and eventual outcomes. History teaches more than just lessons, but it also creates patterns and bonds that we ultimately utilize over the course of our lives. For me, whenever am with childhood friends I always feel like am back to the years of my childhood. It is a great feeling growing up with someone and having a lenght of history with them.
It isn't just about people though. Even in our businesses history does play a very crucial role. The more consistent we are over time the more it becomes a part of our lives. Take Hive for instance and those of us who have been around for a while. I can imagine the memories created through the years and it certainly will be difficult, if not impossible to simply throw all that away for the thought of starting over.
