Discovering And Fulfilling Purpose, The Essence Of Existence
A few weeks ago I went to the market to get a pair of shoes. I used to have one but I discovered that pressure was becoming so much on it and it seems to be getting old faster than I expected.
When I got the new shoe, I didn't just drop it at home, rather I kept it and waited patiently for the right occasion to come so that I could put them into use.
The point I am making here is if those shoes had no use for me I wouldn't have gotten them at all.
Nothing existed by mistake, everything we see around has a purpose for its existence. If it were irrelevant, it wouldn't have been made in the first place.
In attempting to address the issue of purpose, one may not fully grab the full gist if he or she doesn't believe that he was made or created. If that issue is settled, then the next thing is to realize that everything made or created was made by someone for a specific purpose or assignment.
This is one of the things that makes me believe in the existence of God. You can't just exist on your own. Forget biology, how about the first invention of mankind, did they just fall from the sky? Certainly they were made by someone and that entity didn't just create them to fill the earth but to fulfill a purpose or rather to serve a need for him.
Becoming rich and successful in life is a beautiful thing and that's my prayer for everyone but that's not it. If you have met rich people and interacted with them before on the issue of feeling fulfilled, you would be amazed with the things you will hear from them.
These things don't seem to bring the satisfaction we thought it has. As long as you have not yet fulfilled your purpose in life, no matter how much money, influence or wealth you have, you will never feel fulfilled. There will always be that yearning for something you do not really understand. You will still feel as if you are missing out on something.
If purpose lies in just making money and living a comfortable life, it is not worth it. Come to think of it, if everyone suddenly becomes rich then what next?
Anyone can even be rich, whether a young person or an old person. So if for instance a young person or let's say a teenager becomes rich extravagantly does that mean that he has achieved purpose and so, he or she is set to rest and leave this world? I believe the answer is "No."
When purpose is achieved, it leaves an impact in the world. Purpose stands the test of time, it brings about change and a turnaround in your life and the lives of people around you and probably the world at large. Purpose is usually not self centered but society centered.
Making money and the like are our personal goals and dreams, they are not our purpose, though in fulfilling our purpose we will need those things.
The beautiful thing about purpose is everyone has one to fulfill and it's even the reason why we were all created in the first place. Whether you are poor or rich, you exist for a purpose. You have something beautiful and unique to fulfill, something only you can give out to the world.
But unfortunately, we can live and die, without fulfilling our purpose. This is because we live in time, we were designed to grow old and if we don't discover our purpose on time to fulfill them, we may continue to go after things that don't matter throughout our days and die without actually touching the things that really matter.
How Do You Find Your Purpose?
Just like you find manual guides on every machine you buy showing what those machines can do. Right within us lies that purpose that we are to fulfill in life.
Sometimes they can be that area of life where you see the need to bring about change during your lifetime. Those things are there but may not be tangible enough for you to notice until you begin to pay attention to them
If it happens that you still don't understand what that purpose is, thank God you were designed by someone and in your invention, you have the ability to talk. Go back to him who created you and ask him what he sent you down here to do. Let him lead you to it.
It's such a thing of concern for me that the majority of people live and die without fulfilling their purposes in life. Some don't even know they have a purpose so they limit themselves to little things and live around them till they die.
If you ask some people "Why are they living?" You will be surprised with the kind of answers you will receive. Some may even say it's to reproduce and live a comfortable life. If it were just about filling the earth and enjoying it, the maker would have multiplied animals to do that for him, don't you think so?
You and I have a unique purpose to fulfill on earth, we shouldn't let the little time we have to live go in vain without really hitting the target. It would just be as if we wasted our lives because purpose is the real essence of our existence. Every other thing is just like an addition to it.
