Somehow someday, we all have told a lie for our defense while other times is to save our loved ones. 😄 In as much as we all know that telling lies is a sin, we just can't help it and that's why the Bible says "to heir is human and to forgive divine". We have our own flaws true but then it is not encourage to indulge in such so we should learn to say the truth as the Bible still said, "the truth shall set you free".
Honestly speaking, countless times have found my self telling lies and most times is to save myself from the school authority punishment while still in high school and severally times to save myself from my mom's unending shout. One thing about me and my mom is that I prefer her to just beat me than for her to shout because by then even the neighbors would be aware that have done something wrong and I bet you all want to know why I do like to cover myself from my mom and thats simply because of food oh.... food want to put your girl in trouble 🤣 funny right? I know.
But then there is this particular one I lied against an uncle though we are not blood related but his was our next door neighbor and both families are close to each other and that too his elder brother was dating my aunt who came to live with us. So it all happened when I heard my aunt boyfriend and his brother discussing with their friends that drinking garri with salt is so nice so they don't even bother if their is sugar at home or not after all it's unhealthy for a man to be taking sugar. After hearing about it I eagerly await the day I will also try it.😉
My dad actually traveled that period and on his return he came back with lots of garri from the village but my spirit was not moved to do anything not until it finished and Mom had to go buy from the market that was when i remembered i wanted to try out an experiment. 🤣🤣 I soaked the garri in a large bowl and added enough salt to it, happy was I not until I tasted a hand full spoon and could not drink. I know I was supposed to go throw it away but then my mom went out and by then I heard her voice inside the compound so I decided to go through the front door and again my siblings were playing with other kids outside the only option left for me was to hide it and guess where i hid the bowl of garri ? On top the refrigerator.🤣🤣
To cut the long story short, I forgot I said I was gonna throw it away and after three days my mom was cleaning and found the garri when she asked us me I told her it was uncle Ezekiel that said he wants to drink garri and after I fetched for him he said he wasn't going to take it again. I never knew my mom would take it so serious but she did and went to confront him still yet in his presence I denied it and boldly said it was him because only me know the kind of beating that awaits me.
I definitely felt bad about the lie as it took a long time before I finally became comfortable once more around him but what can I do. 🤷 but then many years later I was gisting with my mom and then she remembered that scene that was when I opened up to her but we just laughed over it and she warned never to try such again.
