CONGRATULATIONS ON REACHING 200
It has been a very long time since i have entered in this wonderful contest. both my wife @hindavi and I are avid bird photographers. when she joined Hive i decided it was best not to try to compete against her because she often gets the best shots. so i stopped posting here and left it to her to represent us which she has done admirably.
However now that the contest is starting the new year at a major milestone, 200 I wanted to congratulate the community and join in the celebration. Hive is much more substantial thanks to the efforts of @nelinoeva @barbara-orenya @melinda010100 and more recently @jlufer and of course all who contribute by posting or supporting in other ways.
my entry photo is from a walk in June around Lillevik Beach, a place i visit several times a year and have posted about a few times in various Hive communities. there were three mute swans Cygnus olor in the cove and i took a few shots of them. this one is by far the best of the lot.
they are such graceful majestic birds. there are often swans in the area but as there were no cygnets or signs of nesting i am guessing that these were immature birds in their second year. they mature after three years so perhaps they may nest nearby next year. if they do it is best not to mess with them because they are very protective of their offspring and are known to attack people who venture too close.
