We all know that paying of tax is very mandatory for every citizen but it should be a way to victimize the poor it is best to relieve them by paying less, In my opinion, tax should be paid according to what you earn, so I would say the rich should pay more than the poor, especially the business mogul in the country.
We know that all hands are not equal so paying of tax should be based on how wealthy someone is, small business owners should not be under pressure to pay taxes, and paying of tax should always come with ease.
Most of these tax collectors are the ones giving the citizens the most problems, they will collect taxes and never remit the money into the government account, they make most people pay double if eventually, other people come to collect it.
For instance in Nigeria, we can never compare the amount of tax that Dangote would pay to other small business owners, there are so many things to put into consideration before collecting tax
Firstly, How much is a person earning in a month? This is a crucial question to be asked by the government in other to know how much tax such individuals will pay rather than giving them bills to pay without knowing maybe it is convenient or not, this will help our government to know how to charge people for their tax, it shouldn't be an opportunity to put pressure on citizens.
In my opinion, I would say they should stop paying of tax in my country, there is nothing worth paying for, the taxes we are paying how are they utilizing it, the politicians are the ones enjoying the benefits of the country, in a country where everyone labor for their daily bread and one government will come at the end of the month for tax, it is not done.
Tax should be paid when we are benefitting from the government, not when the youths are on the street suffering, working tirelessly to make ends meet, there is nothing to be proud of, we understand that paying taxes is crucial in other countries because their government is working well and carrying out their responsibilities, but there is nothing to see as motivation.
Well back to the prompt of the day, tax should be paid according to the standard and income of a person, there is nothing a poor person is benefitting from the government, no work, no social amenities, all they know is to be putting pressure on people who set up themselves.
Last weekend I went to my friend's shop and they locked her neighbor's shop, I asked and they said people from the local government locked her shop and even carried her generator just because she hadn't paid her tax for the month, I was shocked because she is selling wears, now how many people are buying clothes, everybody is trying to feed their family the country is not smiling at all, she doesn't make many gains in the month and she must pay her tax because it is mandatory, how will such person see money to pay, it is very bad not to be considerate.
