Where has October gone?

Today is Halloween. It's also a month ago, tomorrow, that I posted with the resolve - again - to post more regularly and rekindle many of my virtual friendships.

Why have I not?

The answer is as complicated as it is simple: life.

Since the beginning of the month, I've been in a bit of a maelstrom: that first week saw two funerals. B's demise still seems surreal.

Then there's been the weather: rain, rain and more rain. It's been good for the garden.

But the cold not so good for me.

Then, somewhere in the middle of this, dear friend of 25+ years and her son came for the weekend which saw 13 of us for a braai on one evening and 5 for dinner the next. All with my usual weekend duties in between.

Then, this week began with yet another storm and rain. I had to go out and between the going out and coming home, took off my specs so they didn't get rained on. And lost them. In transit, I thought. I looked everywhere, including in the car. Twice. I sought help from another pair of eyes. She looked in the car. Moved seats, looked under and over. Everything.

Nothing.

Until I went out later that day:

Losing and finding things - I'm not always sure what - seems to be the theme of my life over the last while. Bear with me as I work them out.

Until next time

Hello @fionasfavourites Life can get so chaotic, and it’s tough to keep up with everything while trying to stay connected. Losing things can feel so frustrating, especially when it seems like everything is happening at once. I admire your ability to keep sharing your experiences despite the ups and downs.

Thank you, you are very kind.

Haha I thought you were going to say they were on your head!

Big hugs Fiona and great to see you💙

Hahahaha! I have done that, and looked for them when I've been looking through them!

Hope you and Mrs T are flourising!

Hola Fiona!
Good to see you here. I hope that between one thing and another you are fine. You look good in the pic!
You are missed here 🤗

Thank you, Eli, for the compliment. I am fine and very busy. In lots of different ways. I keep on hoping things will calm down, but they don't. Let's see how things unfold because I also miss being here!

I hope you and your family and feline are all well? xxx

Hi Fiona, so glad I took a peep at my Hive feed before turning off the light!
It's so nice to see you here (and in the photo with your friend), Hive certainly is not the same without you. Thank goodness you found your specs!
Hope to see more of you.

Lizelle, I lurk! I have been so busy, I don't know which way to turn. Lots of it courtesy of kind friends!! I miss being here, but I do admit to being a little short on inspiration and therefore content. Hopefully that changes soon - along with catching my breath!

Take care xxx

It's good that you're being kept busy, and have such amazing friends! I think one socializes way more in a small village than in a big city. Everyone is busy with their own lives, so I've been finding myself banging pots and pans in the kitchen again.
I understand about the inspiration - or the not part!
Take good care of yourself <3

Hello @fionasfavourites nice to see you again. Rain is good, only as much as necessary and it has done your garden good. It's good to have friends who visit and love us and I see they made you feel better. Losing our glasses and not finding them makes us despair. But everything in life works out. Happy return. A hug.🤗🥰

Thank you, and back at you!
