There are lots of things in my life I can be grateful for. Even small things like seeing a sun rise or sun set or all of the city lights in the morning or evening after work.
Somethings don't go as well as planned. My boss is changing for the 2nd time this year. 1 exited the company and the second one was not announced for over a month and they hired externally instead of making the right decision.
I hope my new boss is helpful and doesn't take credit for my work, and relieves my work load and absorbs some of my stress. I hope it's someone who treats me fairly and someone I can grow to like and aspire to be like. I definitely am not someone that does well being criticized or being micromanaged.
My previous 2 bosses were people I aspired to be like. They have lots of really good qualities in work colleagues, leaders of people and as decent humans.
I became a manager this year it was gifted to me really by a manager in the team leaving. I definitely deserved it but realistically it was 2 years away from happening if everything stayed the same.
For the most recent change to have a new boss starting on Monday I realise I need a good mentor to steer me in the best direction. My goal if I stay at my company is to become more indispensable so that if my new boss leaves in 1-2 years I am the obvious choice for promotion again. I would like to grow my salary by another $1k net per month as soon as possible so I can save for the future to buy property and get a pet etc.
