Superbowl Time!
Yes, I know I'm a few hours late. And I'm purposely avoiding all spoilers right now. But, I have the magic of recorded programs on my subscription to YouTube TV. This is frankly one of the features that makes the subscription worth it, even though it's still pretty expensive.
With my working hours, I've missed quite a few live programs which I wanted to see. Indeed, I've taken advantage of this recording feature on multiple occasions, but... there's also a downside.
The recordings are saved for a year. If the program is run again, then a new recording is made, and the time gets reset. if the program runs only once over the course of a year, then the recording expires after that one year. One year should be enough to watch a recording, right?
Silly me. I've recorded quite a few movies and programs which I left sitting for well over a year, thinking that I'm going to get to them eventually. They've now expired and the recording is worthless unless the movies are run again. Some of them do indeed run more than once, but others are shown rather rarely (especially some of the older movies), so they're now lost to me.
I want to get more proactive about watching these movies. Even if it takes me 2-3 days to finish each movie, due to the limited time I have a lot of evenings, at least the recordings won't go to waste as they previously have.
The Superbowl is definitely going to take me a few sittings to watch in its entirety. I'm going to try to avoid spoilers as much as I can over the next couple of days, including avoiding news channels and the news website over which I tend to briefly gloss on a daily basis, but I can almost guarantee that something is going to slip and ruin everything.
Regardless, I'll watch it for the sport. It'll be good to concentrate on something different for a change, even if I know how it ends.
