When I saw the subject of the Qurators photo quest of this week I immediately knew which photo I had to submit.
We've had a mobile home in the middle of the Netherlands for a while where we spend quite a lot of weekends and holidays. Near the campsite was a railroad where a historic steam train crossing by a couple of times a day. This was a touristic train, offering a nostalgic journey through the area. This heritage railway, run by volunteers, preserves and maintains steam locomotives, vintage carriages, and historic diesel engines.
When we stayed on the campsite, that was about a kilometer from the railway, we heard the whistle of the trains a couple of times a day.
One time, during a walk in the woods, I managed to capture the train with my camera.
It's cool to see the big clouds of steam from the pipe and on the tracks as well.
Unfortunately we have never actually booked a ride on the train itself.
And we have sold our mobile home, so we'll not be there very often anymore.
Well, maybe we'll go there sometime to make the ride...
At least I still have the photo!
