A Nostalgic Musical Trip

For some strange reason, I have found myself not indulging in music of late. I can't say I have been too busy, as I am never too busy to search for songs that bless my soul, but something happened this morning that I think the universe was trying to compensate me for that and also remind me to take time off and enjoy good music more like I used to.

I woke up to such a sweet melody playing slightly a bit far away this morning. At first, I thought it was from a house next to ours, but when I got up and opened my room windows to take a glance at the condition of the weather outside, it became clear the player of my favorite songs was my next-door neighbor.

Playing one's favorite songs is beautiful, but there is this awesome feeling when, out of nowhere, someone else is playing your favorite songs—not just one, but the person's whole playlist just happens to rhyme with yours.

What can I say? My next-door neighbor made my morning so beautiful today in such a way I never expected to. As I was doing the house morning cleaning, it was her playlist I was gently shaking my body to; while I was sweeping and mopping, it happened that she was as well doing her house cleaning, which made her open her door, and the sound of the songs was even clearer to be heard at my end.

I was lucky, don't you think? I mean, she could have been playing some annoying songs that would end up irritating my ears, but she happens to be playing those songs that are very dear to my heart.

Music is a universal language that connects us and binds us together no matter who we are or where we are from. It's simply amazing how those songs connected us today even without speaking a word. Her playlist is filled with songs from two artists who happen to be my all-time favorites. Their songs shaped my musical taste as far back as when I was little, and until today, I still cherish their timeless songs.

Well, if by now you are wonderful, who on earth was she playing? They are rightly found below.

Westlife These guys made my growing up memorable and full of bliss with their music and talent. I used to have almost all their songs on my playlist, and I could sing a handful of them back then. Many years are gone, and their music has become timeless, as I still enjoy their melody as much as I used to any day I play or hear their songs.

This particular one, Season in the Sun, brought so many nostalgic memories. I used to have it as my ringtone for a long time back then. And I'm glad I got to travel back memory lane once again today. Just when I thought, Oh, she was going to stop playing, the next song from her playlist again blew my mind.

It was Right Now by Akon, a musical legend that I wish was still in the music scene. Well, I just relaxed my mind, sang along, and danced to the melodies while I was at the same time doing my house cleaning this morning.

Right now na na used to be my elder brother's favorite song back in the day. He wouldn't stop playing it on repeat until I unconsciously fell in love with the song and became an Akon's fan. This was my nostalgic musical trip today, ignited by my new next-door neighbor, and you are more than welcome to join me on the trip by picking up your earpiece, listen to them and dance along. Cheers 🥂❣️
