I woke up one morning, and a thought kept coming to my mind. "What kind of childhood memories will my son have in the next twenty years to come?" My next-door neighbor, whose kids like to play with him has just relocated, and I kind of feel we are all alone in this house now.
I asked myself, Twenty years from now, what kind of childhood memories will my two-year-old son have? What kind of a mother will he think I am? Would I be the kind who is so busy with work, and the only time she relates with her kid is when she wants to give him instructions, not many bonding moments, no play, or lots of fun activities? The thought of him seeing me that way in the next twenty years from now on made me think of creative ways to start relating with him more. Talking with kids isn't my strong quality as a mother, so I badly needed to work on and improve that.
That is where our little adventure was born, creating something we both find interesting and can relate to. I started creating this beaded letter to help my son learn in a fun and exciting way. This little adventure has been full of beautiful moments and has improved and expanded my creative process. You know, I have you guys to thank, for all your support and comments and for always cheering me on. This adventure wouldn't have been a huge success filled with fun without you.
Today, I'm so thrilled to let you know that we have all the letters, from A to freaking Z. Yes, we have them, and they look so beautiful 😍.
In today's tutorial, I would like to share with you how the last Alphabet is beaded. Do come along with me just one more time.
Materials used
✓ Purple 💜 pearl beads, size 4
✓ Fishline 0.35
✓ scissors
Step-by-step process
Beading the Z is quite simple, and below are the steps involved.
Step 1:
I started by putting four beads on a 50 cm fishline and then crossed both lines with the fourth bead. From there, I added four more rings of beads; in the fourth ring, I put one bead on the left fishline and one bead on the right fishline and then crossed both lines with one bead; this made the line turn, as you can see on the last image.
Step 2:
I put one bead on the left fishline and then crossed both lines with one bead.
Step 3:
To form the middle of the Z, I added five rings of beads.
Step 4:
Here, to curve the line, I put one bead on the right fishline and one bead to cross both lines.
Step 5:
In this step, I added five rings of beads and then tied the knot to complete half of the Z.
Step 6:
I repeated all the steps above to make the other half of the Z and then went ahead to join the two together.

More than beaded alphabets
To many, this might just be a beaded alphabet exercise, but for me, it is way more than that.
When I became a mom, there was part of me that seemed disintegrated; this is not something I like to admit all the time, but deep down, I knew I needed to find myself again.
Going back to beading has unlocked that part of me that I missed so much, that part I badly needed to reconnect with. For the first time In three years, I felt whole again; time might have contributed to my healing, but I simply cannot rule out my beading activities from my current great self-improvement.
I will forever be proud of myself for picking up my beading tools again and using my idle time to create something memorable.
So far I have written about 12 out of the 26 alphabets, and in the coming days or weeks, when I shop for more different colors of seed beads, I intend to create some text dividers for my favorite hive communities and share them on the Ecency Wave.
