I missed my gaming post from Monday again, which feels bad. Not because I didn't have good reasons, but because I am a person who follows schedules and who's used respecting these as much as possible.
However, sharing a gameplay is not that easy. Some might believe you just drop a video of you playing a game and that's it, but along with this one I like sharing personal thoughts, details about the missions completed and other curiosities of the game I'm playing, especially since I don't make commentaries during my videos.
And these often end up quite long, which also involves some good hours writing them. A thing that was completely missing on Monday since my life has not been the happiest or the easiest lately.
Anyway, today's post is not about a life update, nor about a gaming experience but about a thing that I missed sharing in a while. Namely, a post for my series of "Shop Windows of...".
Frankly speaking, this post would be a lot more suitable for the Market Friday Community which I'm missing so badly and I, along with many other people on here, am looking for an update from @dswigle hoping she's alright.
So while I couldn't find a more suitable community for my post, I thought that I'd include it in the Wednesday Walk Community which I haven't posted in for a while. In fact, even if the trip did not happen in a day of Wednesday, it was still a walk on an island exploring the surroundings but also checking out most of the shops you can find in Murano.
Have you heard of Murano Glass? Well, that was born on the island with the same name, which is in Italy. Murano Glass is the world's famous for its unparalleled quality, exquisite range of colours, and not to forget unsurpassed craftsmanship which even if it's quite expensive, there aren't any real competitors reaching the same level of skill when it comes to create art from glass.
So during my time on Murano Island, it was almost impossible to return home without entering an actual Glass Factory and observing with my own eyes how magic happens. With this purpose, I've written in the past a post from such a factory, which became quite popular. So in case you missed it, I strongly suggest you to read that post so I'll avoid recycling my content.

Along with the vibrant colours that turn any piece of Murano Glass into a unique decoration, there is also neverending creativity. Even if glasses, plates, vases of flowers, and jewellery remain the most useful ones, there are also plenty of decorative objects made from Murano Glass that many wouldn't even think about.
Some of them are the animals you can see in the first picture, the little birds from the 2nd image, the chicken from the 3rd image, or even the framed images from the last image which show either trees or flowers but obviously, everything created with glass. But hang in there, this is just the beginning.
While Murano Island has its own points of interest for the tourists, I'd lie saying that these are the most interesting parts, because just as one would expect the glass itself is what makes this place still resist with the passage of time. And it's literally impossible to pass by shops without wanting to enter at least one and look for some souvenirs.
That's how we ended up checking more of these. However, be aware that there are many people trying to take advantage of the tourists who want to bring Murano Glass at their own houses, and sell fakes. I've read on the internet that only real sellers offer a certificate of authenticity for their products, but most likely this only happens in the large shops where the prices are also a lot more expensive.
We did bring some souvenirs at home made of this glass but received no certificate of that kind.
The first shop we entered caught our attention with its large dimensions and plenty of different objects made from Murano glass. At the beginning, we were welcomed by the glasses which most likely are the best sellers, being followed by all kinds of vases that could serve for more purposes.
When I spotted the colourful horses that were so well-detailed I knew there was where all the fun begins. And believe me, I was not ready for what was coming up next.
Jewellery, balloons and decorations of all kinds, shapes, sizes and domains started being observed at any step.
While I thought I could find a favourite and maintain my first pick for a while, I ended up realizing that a new favorite was born at every shelf checked out due to all the creativity you can observe when it comes to the things that result from playing with the Murano Glass. Who would have thought about reproducing floating balloons so well which are made of glass but still look like floating around the room?
A very special and unexpected discovery though, was represented by the glass created within glass, reproducing jellyfish in more sizes and colours. I had one of these in my hand and it's really heavy, which makes it even more impressive trying to figure out how much time those people invested into reproducing such things in high detail.
The jellyfish were not the single objects of that kind that I spotted, but also a large violin, two bodies showing a man and a woman with high details on the muscles, and large boats of more kinds that you can see in the last picture from above.
Each of these three followed a more complex process of playing around with the Murano Glass that broke all the theories one could learn when it comes to art. As we all know, theory is nice but in most cases practicing it is on a whole new level and it often leads to outstanding and unique results you wouldn't achieve just from theory.
Last but not least, one of the most common things you will find made of Murano Glass but which still remains unique no matter how many you see, are the Wine / Bottle Stoppers that we also bought as souvenirs for the people waiting for us at home.
Obviously, there are a lot more things to pick from at an affordable price, but from everything I've seen, I concluded that these are the most classy, unique and luxurious ones at that price. And the thing that it was impossible to find two looking the same, made things even more entertaining while we were checking out which ones to purchase. And if I would ever return to Murano Island, I would still purchase these without hesitation!
