My 3rd Hive Goal for Next Year. Sort of...

in #hive-16792211 days ago

I've asked you here if you thought about your Hive goals for next year. Two more weeks have past, we are one week to 2025, so... have you thought some more?

Last time I answered myself and said that I will have my social goals, like every year, will continue with the HBD in savings goal, witch was considered from the start a multi-year goal, and that I'll likely have a 3rd goal. Plus there were targets to think about regarding my plan for next year for profit taking.

All that time past and I only have one tiny bit more set in stone... the 3rd goal which will be... nothing, at the beginning of the year.

2025 is not the year of big power ups for me, so staked HIVE won't be a goal. But long term, that's likely my primary goal.

I will continue to participate in LPUDs for LEO, but I don't want to commit to any goal for 2025. Depending on what LEO will do price-wise in 2025, I might sell a bigger or smaller portion of my stake, so I can't really have a stake goal under these conditions, can I?

What I thought was that I will have a Splinterlands goal from the get-go. But I decided against it. I will have a Splinterlands goal (probably more over the course of the entire year), but I don't know what to start with until I see the Splinterlands Q1 projects being launched and decide where I want to be more involved and in what way.

In the meantime, I may use some of the liquid rewards to pay back some HIVE used to buy SPS for my staking goal from the last part of this year.

Regarding targets for profit taking next year... This will be a very sensible topic, since 2025 is the last year of the bull market and we don't know exactly when the bull ends and it might not end at the same time for different categories of tokens or assets. I think 2024 was easy, since we knew 2025 will follow. Well, now we won't have the same luxury and we need to make some sort of plan. DCAing out is the simplest way to get away with it without taking major risks. My strategy will likely include gradual profit taking, but we will see how good it will be... What will be your take on this?

Your goals are reasonable. Are you going to convert them to HBD after taking profits?

Yes, that's the plan. Might be other stable instruments on Hive or elsewhere as alternatives, but HBD should be the main focus, while we expect the bear market.

2025 is indeed not going to be much of a power-up year. I think that's just because it's obviously the bull year as people will start to taper of power-ups. Aggressive power ups are probably going to be 2027/28

That's how I see them as well.

Hey there, the Bilpcoin team just wanted to give you a virtual high-five we manually curated this post.

Their attempts to intimidate and silence their critics are equally concerning. The use of downvotes as a means of censorship is a clear indication of their desperation to maintain their grip on the narrative. But it's not working

Great choice! I think progressive profit taking is a safer bet than having a certain price point to take profit. Crypto is largely unpredictable, for better or for worse. A rather sure thing generally is higher highs and higher lows.

I'm also with the assumption that Q1 of 2025 will probably set the tone for the rest of next year. So I'm thinking of waiting until that time to put more concrete-ness on some of the goals I have for next year, that are related to investments and finance in general.

I'm also with the assumption that Q1 of 2025 will probably set the tone for the rest of next year.

That depends. We might have a continuation of the strong uptrend in Q1, and then a long pullback, and have another uptrend late summer and early fall. Or a different scenario... But I'm not sure Q1 will give us enough information about what the rest of the year will be like or when the bull market will end.

Yeah, right. Q1 might turn out great but then, the following quarters may just be somewhere in between good and not so good. Perhaps taking a flexible figure it out as you go strategy could be a better approach during such times of uncertainty.

I don't want to take profit next year, but I want to take the opportunity of a bloated price to sell and take these... well, profits into HBD, but not for consumerist purposes. I just want to buy more Hive, when the bear is back in town in 2026 or 2027.

Well, that's my main purpose as well, at least on Hive... to switch between HIVE and HBD in order to have more HIVE in the end.

I think it's reasonable to pass on goals if you want to see what will happen. I think the LPUD is enough to improve your LEO stack. I think it's fine to gradually take profits. It's never wrong to do so.

Yes, it removes a risk factor from the equation if you wait with volatile assets for too long.

My current plan is to Power Down once Q3 begin. Altcoin tops after BTC. We are barely seeing attention back in Altcoins now. I plan for at least 15,000 HBD in savings and use the APR to DCA into whatever that looks good in 2026 - 2027.

You are an optimist with a PD in Q3. 15k HBD seems like a very good target. I will probably up mine as well, but not before I reach my current target of 5k. I don't want to make plans about when I will buy back into volatile assets yet.
