A pleasant weekend to you all dear friends on Hive, I hope we are all enjoying the weekend as we reenergize for the new work week.

It's another wonderful edition of the hive learners' creative Sunday, where we share our different creative talents and passions, so yeah, it's another DIY project for me. I recently made my mum a sleeveless chic dress, she so loved it that she requested another made with flowery fabric with a touch of pink, well, that was the description she gave me before I went fabric sorting, and I was more than happy to recreate another sleeveless flowery dress for her.

Thankfully, I found a fabric that fit her description at the fabric store, after an almost endless search, getting that part sorted, the next part was making the dress.

Materials used

  • Flowery crepe fabric
  • Lining Fabric
  • Zipper

Cutting And Sewing Process

  • I started by drafting the front upper part of the dress using a bustier pattern

  • And also drafted the upper back side of the dress

  • Next, I joined the pattern pieces together and also repeated the same process on the lining fabric pattern pieces.

  • Continuing, I joined the front main fabric by the shoulders before turning it neatly with its lining.

  • For the lower part of the dress, I drafted it using a straight skirt pattern.
  • Next I joined the upper side by the sides, also joined the lower part of the dress by the sides before sewing them together by the waistline

  • Finally, I added a zipper to the back and also hemmed the dress, and that completes the making process of this beautiful sleeveless dress.

My mum was excited to receive yet another dress and so am I, bring able to create my little DIY magic with fabrics and a sewing machine.

I hope someone finds this helpful, as anyone with a little sewing knowledge can easily replicate this design.
