Fundamental human rights are those basic things every human being should have access to them. For instance, water is one of the basic amenities that is compulsory for every human being. Hence, the internet Should be considered as one because of its usefulness.
There is huge development of the internet in the educational system: 40 years ago teachers were using chalkboards to facilitate learning. Primary school pupils such as primary 1 were using slates to write and the upper classes were using books, pens and pencils.
Then, the development came some years ago, some schools changed to whiteboard and marker; though the majority of government secondary and primary schools are using whiteboard today.
Today, we have magic boards in some private and government schools. The development has not ended there, there are some primary schools and secondary schools in my environment where the kids must have access to learning pads for the pupils and students. Some of these kids pads require access to the internet to submit assignments. That is just for the primary school pupils I saw in my area.
Went to a secondary school last year, every student had learning pads, and most of the teachers gave them assignments to submit; and the majority of the assignments required internet service.
That was the moment I began to realize that the internet should be part of fundamental human rights. Since 5 year old children need the Internet to learn and do assignments online, Then the older one needs it more.
The promotion exam to level 17 was conducted through zoom. They notified them that the promotional exam would be conducted in zoom which required the internet for connection. I was the one that helped my boss to set everything on his phone.
The message I'm trying to send is that even people above 50 years old also need an Internet connection.
There are companies whose employees don't come to the office everyday; they work from home.
“According to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), more than 8.5 billion mobile subscriptions in use worldwide in 2022.”
The present world population is about 8.2 billion, this is to tell us that there are people worldwide that are using more than one mobile. That is the reason the population of the mobile subscriptions in use is more than the population of the entire people living on the earth.

This is another reason the government should consider the Internet as a fundamental right. I have been in villages where there was no electricity for years; the funniest thing was that there were a high number of people using the Internet.
This is to tell you that there are people who prefer the internet over electricity. I was wondering how they charge their phone, but I realized that they had people that charge their phone for them in exchange for money and the majority of them installed small solar that could charge their phones.
There are many places in my area that experience power outages for days; yet, many of them cannot do without the internet for 2 hours, such as me. Our electricity was damaged three days ago, I don't care about it but I can't do without the internet for 1 hour. There are many people experiencing it in my country: yet, they can't do without the internet in a day.
To conclude, the internet is everything to many people, taking the internet away from them is like depriving them of fundamental human rights. This is because they cannot do without the internet.
