People talk so much about how their rights are being encroached upon on a daily basis. Humans want to be left alone to do what they wish to do for different reasons. What part A term freedom to be is different from what party B terms freedom to be, and our definitions of freedom are mostly affected by various things.
Firstly, the kind of society we are brought up in, and secondly, our belief system. A child's upbringing plays a great role when it comes to judging what is right and wrong. For instance, a child who is raised in a society whereby there is no distinct difference between a male and a female will certainly grow up to find himself having an identity crisis, except if his parents take their time to educate him or her on where he or she should belong.
Another critical factor that determines our freedom is the belief system. Coming from a background, I was taught that telling lies is a sin that puts me in the position to make that I am not free to lie and will make up how I see those who blow lies as if they are just that way, or those who believe when they call a black material white just to get what they want, is not bad. Personally, looking at freedom from my belief system, I will outrightly say that anything I do that has a negative impact on people around me is not seen as freedom because how will my conscience see me if what I am demanding as freedom ends up killing a fellow human?
Everyone claims to be guided by his conscience and so when asked the reason for doing a particular thing we claimed that as long as my conscience is not against me, so I do it and we forget that even the conscience have to be examined properly. Imagine a grown human will have the full moral to take the life of three children from the same parents in a day just because he had a problem with their parents, and his conscience and freedom gave him that liberty to do so.
Because of this diversity in conscience and the way we see things, it brings the urgency for the government to state how things are to be done in a sane or an ideal environment. One joy I have as I write this post is that this definition of freedom was now done in this century, because had it been done, we would have seen so many wonders and much agitation. The rules were given when humans still had a good mind, and we could carefully differentiate what is good and wrong. Our head was still very much correct, though it was not so current because it was still considered the primitive era. We grow on a daily basis, and that is what has brought us to the place we are at the moment.
In a society that has some rules and regulations guiding our conduct, it makes it so that in all we do, there are limitations because those rules are well thought of in a way that no one will be impacted in a negative manner. Now to this I will say, we are not free to do things that will harm our fellow humans or destroy anything, but we are so allowed to do things that will bring about the collective good of people and society.
The subject of freedom is one that has a very broad area of coverage that will take us so much time and energy to have a full grasp of it because of our differences. But at the moment this is what I have to say. Thank you for stopping by my blog, as this serves as my entry to the last edition of this week's contest.
