En este contaminado y enorme espacio terrestre que habitamos (tierra), existe una cantidad innumerable de arañas que año tras año se siguen extendiendo numéricamente hablando debido a los nuevos registros de especímenes que se van sumando a la extensa lista que maneja el hombre, se estima que las especies registradas ascienden por encima de las 45.000 englobando a todos los continentes, siendo extremadamente difícil dar cifras exactas por distintos factores entre los que se puede incluir la ecología, biología y la geografía de muchas de ellas, hay lugares muy remotos y de complicado acceso que pueden estar habitados por especímenes nunca vistos por nosotros. Gracias a todo esto, diría que se mantiene un guiño de diversión empujado por la curiosidad de miles de expertos que durante prolongados periodos de tiempo se dedican a la exploración e investigación en lo que parece ser una interminable búsqueda de nuevas arañas, lo que también ha dado forma y sentido científico a todos los estudios existentes, de manera que, al día de hoy se reconocen las especies de importancia médica y podemos encontrar una extensa base de datos para conocer más de cerca al siempre enigmático mundo de las arañas.
