Hi community!
This Friday the judge will issue the ruling on the precautionary measure requested by Barça to register the two players.
Key day for FC Barcelona's interests. And for its coffers. This Friday, the judge will decide whether to accept the precautionary measure requested by the Blaugrana club to be able to register Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor.
Both players are registered until December 31 and the club, after exhausting other avenues such as the surplus left by Ter Stegen's departure at the salary level or the new contract with Nike (the League rejected both options), denounced the organization presided over by Javier Tebas and asked for a precautionary measure. Something that worked two years ago with Gavi.
But we have already mentioned that on this occasion there are specificities. Without going any further, the Commercial Court No. 10 of Barcelona summoned both parties, when in January 2023 only FC Barcelona appeared. La Liga appeared in the Ciutat de la Justícia of the City of Counts with a team of lawyers. In addition, we must take into account that pressure exerted by Athletic, Atlético and Sevilla so that Tebas does not give in to pressure from Barça.
With all this context on the table, this Friday we will know the judge's decision. The entity chaired by Joan Laporta conveys that it is neither optimistic nor pessimistic regarding the magistrate's verdict.
In fact, at the ordinary meeting of the board held last Monday, Plan B was put on the table, a contract for the sale of VIP seats. In principle, this package was to be sold for around 200 million euros. But it has been approved that, in the event that the judge does not grant the precautionary measure to register Olmo and Pau Víctor, the sale of a smaller package to a Qatari company for a value of 120 million euros will be activated.
With that amount, not only would the 1:1 rule be reached and Olmo and Víctor could be registered, but the renewals of Pedri and Gavi could also be carried out (and even a signing could be addressed, something that has been ruled out for now). Logically, this route is not the preferred one by the Barça board, who prefer to have room to renegotiate and make a profit before June 30. By that date, the capital inflow will have been signed, and the financial fair play will automatically be balanced and operations can be undertaken normally. And the sporting management is already working on that scenario.
In any case, both the legal department of Barça, led by Pere Lluís Mellado, and the board of directors as a whole have a shock plan to react quickly if the judge puts the brakes on the precautionary measure on Friday. Communication with both players in recent weeks has been constant and they have been reassured at all times.
See You soon!
