Like I always tell my friends and acquaintances, “The world is too chaotic to be the reason someone feels bad or second guesses themselves”.
The world always needs more kindness. Tell us some ways you’ve thought of to make other people’s days better that you feel are unique- maybe you will give someone else fresh ideas!
It costs nothing to be kind and certainly, nothing to put a smile on people's faces. Having more kind people in our society today would solve a lot of problems, as people would be less tense, angry, heartbroken, and pained. When we have a decrease in the number of people who feel this above-mentioned emotions the world will be less chaotic.
Every day I try my best to make people smile. I know how I feel whenever I am having a bad day and someone makes a conscious effort to make me feel better.
As a result of my playful nature, it’s always easy to make people smile, make them feel better, or even make their day.
One of the ways I make people feel better and invariably make their day is by complimenting them. I don’t fail to tell people how nice they look or how nice they smell. You can’t get past me wearing a pretty dress or lovely shoes without me telling you how amazing each of them look on you.
I have complimented people to the extent that most people don’t take me seriously again😂 My friends would always say “Everything is beautiful in IB’s eyes”, I can’t blame them though.
The truth is a lot of people are dealing with insecurities, some people are moving around feeling nothing but hatred for themselves, and some are dealing with low self-esteem, that little compliment you throw their way can go a long way, it can be that extra confidence boost they need to get through their day, it can even be the nicest thing they have heard in a while.
How do you feel when someone compliments your shoes or haircut? Don’t you feel good? Doesn’t it make you smile? Now imagine you constantly complimenting people and making them smile, you just might be making their day without you even knowing, and as the universe abhors vacuum, the more you give these things the more you get in return.
Another method I have devised to make people feel better and invariably make their day is by showing concern. The world is moving so fast that everyone is too busy with their problems to notice the next person's problem so going the extra mile to show a little concern can make a person's day.
Once I notice anyone wearing a frown, I can politely tap you on your shoulder or raise your chin, then I'd ask you if you are fine calmly and sweetly. Of course, most people will never accept that they are not fine. I'd smile at you, give you a little pep talk, and when I am sure that my words got to you I walk away with a smile on my face.
Note that I did not need to pry into your personal life nor did I need to solve your problem, all I did was to make you know that someone cares about you. I have had people do this to me and I know how much better I felt after they did. That sort of warmth you feel after discovering that someone did not just notice that you weren’t happy but took the time to make you feel better, trust me that feeling is next to none!😃.
For someone like me who is a big hugger, I don’t fail to hug people. If I notice you are wearing a long face and I know you are not going to frown at my hug, I am so hugging you🥰 sometimes this might come as a shock to some people when I hug them but afterward, they begin to ease into it, after hugging I try to crack some jokes with you and trust me one of my stupid jokes must get to you.
Now the thing is you don’t need to laugh your ass out or anything, only a smile on your face is enough for me.
These and many more are the methods I incorporate in my daily life to make people days better and trust me it’s always a nice feeling to put a smile on people’s faces.
