Magandang buhay :)
The Farmboy was playing music the other day and one particular duet caught my heart, I already loved them right then and there. So I asked who the artists were. "The husband and wife duo Caleb & Kelsey," he replied. "They did a lot of covers for gospel songs and popular tracks by different artists," he went on.
It was not only their voices that were beautiful and heartfelt but the lyrics too. So let's get on and listen to the song that first introduced them to me through the Farmboy's playlist.
Dance With me
This is one of the original tracks of the duo that captivated my heart from the start. They sing with passion, don't they? I can only imagine how they grow fonder with each other as they create music through the years. Let's give the beautiful lyrics a good read:
Trying to picture my life without you
Is like trying to imagine the sky without blue
Doesn't make sense
And I wouldn't want it too
If I could capture this moment and hide it away
And come back and live it again every day
Just the two of us
As the music plays
Dance with me
I'll sweep you off your feet
It will be you and me
For the rest of our lives
Dance with me
This is how life should be
Just you and me
For the rest of our lives
Dance with me
Lookin' ahead to the next hundred years
We'll share in our victories, we'll share in our tears
'Cause together
What do we have to fear?
Together we'll age like the grapes of the vine
And our love will grow and gets sweeter with time
But for right now
Put your hand in mine...
It's a great wedding song, don't you think so? The couple co-wrote these lyrics with three others (James Rueger, Brandon Chase, and Justin Morgan).
My curiosity about them led me to do a brief research and discover they had been singing together twelve years ago since they met in college. There is no doubt music brought them close.
They initially were doing covers and mashups of Christian and worship songs. Sometime in 2019, they collaborated with Lauren Daigle, one of the biggest names in Christian music, and accordingly reached number 1 in the Billboard Christian Airplay chart with their cover of "You Say."
Here's one of their Christian song covers that I like.
Hold On To Me
Their voices blend beautifully and perfectly. They have a certain music style, combining elements of country, folk, pop, rock, etc.
They also did covers of different genres from artists like Adele, Aerosmith, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Justin Beiber, and many others which show their versatility. Speaking of which, below is their rendition of Ed Sheeran's Perfect.
Perfect
And there ends my recommendation for the Three Tune Tuesday initiative by Ablaze. Should you wish to check out more of their songs, head on to their YT channel or search for them on Spotify and Apple Music.
Cheers and have a fantabulous day, frens!
