Hello, hello! Happy New Day!
We woke up to a cool Tuesday morning at our first home. It's been a while since we spent the night here and it felt different (in a good way). I was so drained (physically and mentally) from almost two weeks of hospital stays that I didn't want to move a muscle, lol! While in bed, the hubby started playing soothing music, reminding me of the TTT initiative by Ablaze which we always participate in every Tuesday.
I didn't have to search for an artist to showcase since he already did that for me through his playlist. An a cappella group called Pentatonix caught my ears and without further ado, here are my chosen three (four) among their many tunes.
Pentatonix - Shallow
I rarely listen to a cappella music but this group has changed that. Their unique style combines pop arrangements, beatboxing, riffing, vocal percussion, and scat singing.
Per information from Wiki, the group was formed in 2011 and won the third season of NBC's The Sing-Off. They are all from Arlington Texas, consisting of vocalists Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Kirstin Maldonado, Matt Sallee, and Kevin Olusola.
Anyway, here's their cover of another popular song.
Pentatonix - Hallelujah
Their various voices and tones blend so well and this version of theirs gave me goosebumps. I'm simply awed, that is.
Accordingly, the group's name was inspired by the pentatonic scale, a musical scale or mode with five notes per octave, representing the 5 members of the group.(src)
And here's my third recommended tune - their nice cover of Celine Dion & Andrea Bocelli's famous song.
Pentatonix - The Prayer
The single was released 3 years ago as part of their 5th Christmas-themed album Evergreen. The group, by the way, produces mostly cover versions of pop songs and holiday releases.
And since Christmas vibes are in the air today, here's a bonus track from the group - one that had me wiggling my body (in my mind) this early morning.
Pentatonix - Over the River ft. Lindsey Stirling
This version of theirs awakened my veins, hence this post :)
I do like their rendition of Perfect, Imagine, and Amazing Grace among others. It's still early and we will probably spend most of today checking out their other releases.
Hope you enjoyed this set. I wish us all a terrific day!
