There are various projects nowadays where people can share resources and get rewarded for them (DePIN mining), unfortunately, finding good ones is challenging, especially when you are like me who doesn't really spend time to dig deeper or do comprehensive research. And even so, not every project succeeds. Nevertheless, I still go for those I find interesting just because they don't require anything special and only ask me to share my unused bandwidth and I can choose to stop anytime.
Call me lazy but yes, as long as they don't ask for KYC, don't obtain any of my personal or private data, and don't interfere with what I'm doing, then they are a 'yes' for me. As a precaution, I run them on other devices, separate from what I use for my transactions and stuff.
Anyhow, here are just some of them:
Grass
This is where it started and although a bit late, I caught up with its first Epoch and was able to share with the airdrop (GRASS). It is currently in its third epoch which lasts until the 17th of this month. The rewards for the second are yet to be distributed though.
NodePay
Accordingly, NodePay is focused on AI training and development. Users can turn their computers into nodes by downloading the browser extension, creating an account, and earning Node points. Some simple quests or tasks (Missions & Rewards tab) for those who wish to gain additional points. There are also campaigns that boost rewards when users complete or participate in them.
We are on the third session (I only started on session 2). There's a need to verify the email address used on signing up, connecting, and confirming one's Solana wallet. I believe corresponding rewards will be claimed when the project launches its token.
Teneo
Initially only had a browser extension but the project recently launched a user dashboard where users can track their activities, points, and such. It is still in beta so some functionalities are unavailable.
Users who use a referral code (you can use mine if you're up for it: NdEIM) earn an extra 1k Teneo points when signing up. It is mentioned in the Teneo FAQs that the Teneo Points will later be converted to $TENEO Tokens after the Token Generation Event.
The Teneo Community Node allows users to unlock public social media data streams from platforms like X, Reddit, TikTok, and Facebook. By running a node, users contribute to a decentralized network that bypasses traditional data access barriers, ensuring that users – not corporations – benefit from the value of the data.¹
UpRock
The so-called people-powered DePIN for a humanity-first AI future.²
This requires installing and running the UpRock AI Earnings app (available for Windows, Mac OS, Linux, Android or Iphone). Users earn $UPT, the platform's token which is already listed and tradable in various exchanges. However, UPT earned through the app is temporarily locked until the browser proxy app is fully operational.
On running the app, the speed of one's internet and the estimated amount of $UPT one earns hourly are displayed on the dashboard.
I just started today so not sure if the amount changes since the internet speed is not constant. Will see how it goes after a day or two. If the earnings are too small, I might just uninstall the app, lol!
Pawns App
There's an app to download the app (desktop and/or mobile), sign up using an email address, and start earning. There are available surveys and games in which users can participate to earn more.
There's a minimum payout of $5 and depending on the user's country, earnings can be cashed out in Bitcoin, Paypal, or Payoneer. From my quick checking, no KYC is needed so it's good and I intend to claim any rewards in Sats. I only discovered the app last night so I have no idea how long it would take to earn the first $5.
Well, that's it! And to be honest, I'm behind in updates and information on these projects but I hope they will be worth something in the sooniverse. I'm not putting all my hopes in them though!
