Gods Unchained: The Importance of Keeping Relics and Spells in Your Deck [EN/PT] |
Greetings.
Recently, I believe Iāve spent a considerable amount of time on Gods Unchained and dived deep into the Relic cards. For those unfamiliar, Relics are artifact-type cards that grant special abilities to the god you control. The interesting part is that, unlike common cards, these Relics stay in play until the end of the game, and you have the option to choose between three at the start of a match.
The previous post discusses this in more detail, so don't forget to check it out.
Today, Iād like to share my experience in two distinct battles where I used Relics with two different gods: Magic and Light. I will also share some thoughts on two specific relics, Lambasting Wand and Summon Acolyte.
In one of my recent matches, I played as the God Magic and opted to use the Lambasting Wand, a Relic with rather simple utility. It deals 2 damage to the enemy God, reducing the durability of this relic by 1.
This is useful for countering monsters with the Leech ability or abilities that can heal the God significantly. In other words, this Relic allows you to bypass Frontline creatures.
Luckily, my opponent was using a War Deck alongside many creatures with Frontline. I was able to reduce his health with each use of this Relic. I also got lucky enough to draw another copy of this card using a Draw Card spell.
(Spoiler: Reckless wiped out all the monsters by the end of the game).
In another battle, I chose to play as the God Light and used the Summon Acolyte relic. Unlike the previous one, which offers a more offensive approach in the form of a creature, the Summon Acolyte is a relic that summons an Acolyte monster with 2/2 stats to my board. It may seem like a simple ability, but in prolonged games, the value this card generates over time is immense.
Even more so when you are running low on cards in your hand but still have that extra mana available.
One of the things I appreciate most about this Relic is its ability to constantly create a creature on the battlefield, which gives you not only a constant presence but also forces the opponent to spend resources dealing with these summons.
You donāt want to leave 4 of these creatures on the board. They can be upgraded with a certain legendary card that I also have at my disposal.
I was battling against a Nature Deck.
He was trying to maintain high regenerations on his creatures. At some point, I saw him recover exactly 5 health points for a creature with an impressive attack. I wish I had been using my Death Deck; I would have applied some anti-regeneration effects on him without any problems.
Another topic I will only briefly mention here but will describe better in another post is my recent frustration with the mobile version of Gods Unchained.
Recently, I started getting disconnected or the game app would just close unexpectedly during crucial moments, which ended up ruining my matches.
The worst part is that it counts as a loss, which explains my current ranking.
Itās frustrating to be in the middle of an important move and the game just shuts down. This made me opt to return to the desktop version, which, despite being less convenient in some situations, is far more stable and functional. Nonetheless, I hope the development team resolves these issues soon, as the mobile version has enormous potential to make the game more accessible. Iāve been playing during some boring moments elsewhere, and I wouldnāt want to lose that convenience.

Gods Unchained: The Importance of Keeping Relics and Spells in Your Deck [EN/PT] |
