Privacy is important

We are living in a digital world, and privacy is a matter of concern in the present time. The development of technology has given us many facilities and made our life better, but at the same time, because of technology, stealing our information has become very easy. A single click can be enough to give all the data to a thief.

I think if we have a mobile in our hands, then our privacy is automatically at risk, no matter how careful we are. Somehow, our data can be stolen without our knowledge. I am going to give a simple example of it. A few months ago, I installed Facebook again for some purpose, although I am not so active on Facebook. During that time, I discussed about earbuds with my sister because a pair of earbuds were necessary for me. I didn't search for anything online. But, surprisingly, Facebook started to show a lot of ads of earbuds. At the beginning, I thought it was a coincidence, but when I saw an aggressive amount of ads of earbuds, I became sure that Facebook was listening to my voice all the time.

This thing didn't end there. When I entered YouTube, I noticed that it was also showing me an aggressive amount of shorts and ads of earbuds. I didn't face such a thing on YouTube earlier. So I doubt that Facebook authorities sold my data to YouTube and some other third-party application company. I noticed that, and then the first thing I did was uninstall Facebook. I was able to detect the activity of Facebook. But I am still not sure that other applications installed on my mobile are not stealing my data. So I think in the virtual world, privacy is threatened.

Let's talk about privacy in the offline world. Privacy in offline words exists for everyone, even kids also have privacy. We all know that, so family members are those people whom we trust a lot, and they are our well-wishers. Is it a good idea to keep things private from them? Do you think it's complicated to answer? I don't think so. I am going to share an example.

Like everyone, I also have a smartphone for my regular use, and on my mobile, most of my data exists. My messages, calls, chatting, pictures, and videos are all on my mobile. Does my family member have the right to check those things? The answer is no. None of my family members have the right to check my mobile, not even my parents. It's because I am mature, and on my mobile, there can be personal and sensitive data that I don't want to share. Obviously, everything is not for sharing. Suppose I have hive account, but none of my family members know the keys to access my password. My mother suggests me to keep my hive earnings in the bank, but she never forces me to do so because she knows she should give me my privacy and take my own decisions. She just wants to guide me, and as I shared with her, I have some assets in Hive. That's it.

In my case, I am very open-minded, and I can discuss every little thing with my parents. Except for some secrets, I can share everything with them. Giving access to my mobile to them is possible, but I won't choose to do it because, in my opinion, it's not necessary.

Let's talk about the kids who are not mature enough to understand everything. In such a situation, I think parents have the right to influence the privacy of their children. I think it's also necessary because it's very important to check on every little thing about kids. In that case, I think parents have the right to interfere with the privacy of their children because parents need to stay aware of their kids. If kids take the wrong way, then giving privacy can make things worse. But at the same time, they start to grow up and start to understand many things. So with their growth, parents need to give them some room and create a friendly environment for them. So that they will feel comfortable sharing about their problems, even if they're personal.

You are sure right, in as much we want or think our data is private, it isn't. I also had similar experience when I was introduced to a beauty company offline and all of a sudden on my news feed it was just showing all about beauty products.

That means our data can be stolen easily and there are many incidents of it. In this digital world, it's tough to protect our data. Who knows someday our data will be used against us. So it's a matter of concern.

Privacy protection is as essential as our life on social media. Exactly parents didn't have the right to expose our privacy by taking our phones. Facebook's Algorithm for sensing different things is dangerous brother, even if we are talking about something physically Facebook will drag our attention there as well.

Indeed it's very important but our date is being stolen easily. Mantaining the privacy may be possible in offline world but in online it's nearly impossible because you don't know who is stealing your data without your permission.

I do think that parents plays a big role to how much a child can relate his or her thoughts and seeing how easily you find it to share most things with your parents, it means they’ve built quite a good relationship with you 😊

A child won't be a child all the time. S/he will grow up and the sense of privacy will be developed automatically. Parents can only make the environment friendly to their child and so they can share their problems without any kind of hesitation.

That’s right, parents just have to help them find it easy to express what and how they feel.

Wow! I also have sane experience of talking to someone about something, then next I start seeing ads based on that same thing, now I'm relieved I'm not the weird one but there is an actual listening bot on Google 🤣🤣

That means we need to keep our mobile far away during private discussions. Who knows that information can be used to blackmail us. At the current time, we are trusting Google/Facebook but there is no guarantee those will remain the same in the future.
