Hello Everyone!
Writing early, Resting up, Heavy rain events, Trying to outpace the mold & Bogged down with daily chores!
Alright, I am going to try to squeeze in a little writing early in the day before the sun hits its zenith... and makes the writing tent unbearable to be in. Making time to sit down to do the writing has been super tricky of late... and I gotta admit that I miss the dull routine of being 'on time' and staying 'on schedule' with it all!
The weather has cleared up over the last few days... and yup it has gone right back to 'baking hot' outside... and if that were not bad enough... everything is now damp and I have been having a heck of a time trying to stay ahead of the mold. Even one of my nice leather slip on shoes got turned solid white by the stuff... but thankfully I noticed it (and set it out in the sun) before it began turning green.
At some point soon I will need to take an entire day... and empty everything out of my camping tent... because there is a bunch of stuff in there that needs either washing or thrown away altogether. Given that water still flows through the tent during heavy downpours... all the mold is not too surprising... and what is surprising is that I have just started having problems with it over the last few weeks.
Anyways, I have not been working on much lately because I have been resting up... eating a bunch of food... and letting my body heal after the tremendous pressure that I put it under to get the place as setup as it is. I guess that you could call it 'catching my breath' before diving back into the next phase of things... which honestly are undetermined at this juncture.
I trailed off with that last paragraph a few days ago and never finished writing this entry... so I should probably try giving it another go and see what emerges. From what I can recall the tent grew super hot inside faster than I thought it would... and I sought out 'cooler environs' rather than suffer through it.
Yesterday, I spent a bunch of time trying to track down what was causing my camp to smell like a piece of wet cardboard with something putrid on it... because everything smelled pretty funky... and it was hard to distinguish what was what. In the end, I discovered that the truly foul smell... was coming from some corn on the cob that had not only gone bad... but had also become a colony for a variety of bugs.
For the most part I spent the entire day sorting through everything in the camping tent... washing dirty socks... putting everything with mold on it in bleach water... and shuffling laundry around on the dog yard fence... so it would maybe dry out some day. Of course, nothing is as easy... nor as straightforward as simply doing stuff... and to achieve all that there were lots of side quests!
The only other activity that I have been engaging in around here... is hiking around and looking at what kinds of mushrooms are growing. Given the level of 'day to day chores' that I have to do at this stage of things... it is a wonder that I can squeeze in a hike or two a day just to ease my mind.
On that note, I think that I am going to call this entry good enough... and try to get it posted before the sun rises up too much further. I hope that everyone is doing well. Ciao for now.
