I recently visited Tops Mountain View (see: Tops of Cebu Blog) a few weeks ago and ate Yappari Steak, an Okinawa Steak House.
I know for a fact that steak in general is quite expensive, usually around 20 USD, but i was surprised to see the price list in their menu that their steak only cost 6 USD so my date and I tried one. Though, I don't have high expectations as to the quality of the steak considering the price.
I ordered their Yappari beef, welll done, while my date ordered their pork tenderloin. Both meals have free soup and rice already.
Although their steak was quite hard to chew, the delicious sauces is what saves the dish. I can't compare the dish to an authentic one since this is my first time eating Yappari steak. The soup was quite bland too. Their tenderloin was good, though. Rate: 2/5
If not for the surrounding mountain view, we might not dine here. Their staffs were friendly and attentive, at least. The waiter serving us was a foreigner, which is peculiar to me. Their serving time was quick too.
Overall, I was honestly not satisfied with the food. I believe there are better restaurants in Tops of Cebu that offers more delicious meals at an affordable price. Or maybe we might have missed their best sellers and instead ordered the not so famous ones. However, I liked the aesthetics of the restaurant and its vibes, very intimate and romantic.
Despite not enjoying the meal, I still had fun because of my company. I guess its not always about what you ate but who you ate it with. The next time i visit Tops of Cebu, I will definitely try the other restaurants out there.
