Hello everyone, welcome to The Vibes Web3 Music Competition, the best music community on web3. If you're not part of us, consider joining now!
For my entry this week, I decided to cover the song 'Alone' by Heart, released in the 80s era. This week's theme in The Vibes community is '#80s music,' and I chose this song.
Initially, I was unsure what to sing due to my busy schedule, and learning a new song felt challenging. I had a particular song in mind but wanted to explore other options. One afternoon, I searched for 80s songs on YouTube and came across 'Alone' by Heart. I immediately fell in love with the song, drawn to its rich, deep tone.
However, when I listened to the chorus and bridge, I realized it shifted to a high register, which proved to be a bit challenging. For a moment, I considered changing the song, but I loved the message in the lyrics and decided to give it a try.
I managed to learn the lyrics within three days and recorded the song in a studio, as I prefer to do. I find that recording in a studio helps me stay focused and inspired.
Recording this video was a bit challenging, though. My sound engineer's phone, which we usually use to record, was stolen. We had to improvise and use his friend's digital camera instead. You might notice some shaky footage, but I'm grateful we were able to record the video despite the challenges.
I hope you enjoy listening to my cover of 'Alone.' Thank you for watching!

Lyrics
I hear the ticking of the clock
I'm lying here the room's pitch dark
I wonder where you are tonight
No answer on the telephone
And the night goes by so very slow
Oh I hope that it won't end though
Alone
Till now I always got by on my own
I never really cared until I met you
And now it chills me to the bone
How do I get you alone
How do I get you alone
You don't know how long I have wanted
To touch your lips and hold you tight
You don't know how long I have waited
And I was going to tell you tonight
But the secret is still my own
And my love for you is still unknown
Alone
Till now I always got by on my own
I never really cared until I met you
And now it chills me to the bone
How do I get you alone
How do I get you alone
How do I get you alone
How do I get you alone
Alone... alone...
