Splinterlands: Aves Sturgis's weapons training is powerful

in #hive-133239 days ago

Splinterlands is a complex game and it allows for various different cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various different rulesets applied and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because of Failed Summoner.

Featured cards

Aves Sturgis is an life splinter that costs 6 mana. This card starts off with the weapons training ability. It learns at divine shield at level 2 and rust at level 4. I have this card at level 1 but I still think it is a useful card. Weapons training is always nice as a card.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is Keep Your Distance and Noxious Fumes This means that no melee monsters can be used and all monsters start off poisoned ability. There is also 24 mana and I can choose fire, life, or death splinter.

Grandmaster Ratheis my summoner for its +1 armor, void armor, and amplify. My tank is Chaos Agent to deal as my first monster as a filler. It will delay some damage to the rest of my monsters. Then I have two immunity monsters and Evelyn Auvera between them. This gives the immunity monsters magic damage and that damage will add up over time to take out my opponent.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I think I have the advantage. The main damage from my opponent is that magic monster but it still has to go through my armor first due to my summoner. So I should be able to take it out before it can take out all my magic monsters. Once that happens, I will have won this match.

Round 2

round 2.png
Both my opponent and I lost one monster. I still have a strong tank with plenty of armor. I won't miss it so that magic monster will die this round. Once that happens, my opponent can't deal any more damage so the win is mine after that. My immunity monsters won't die and it will just be a matter of time for me to win this amtch.

I was able to win the match a few rounds later just as I expected. The immunity monsters just continued to deal damage against my opponent.

Conclusion

The battle this time played out as expected. By using immunity monsters and adding magic damage to it through weapons training, I was able to have some monsters that wouldn't die from the poison. My summoner made it hard for my opponent to kill my monsters and I am glad that the magic monster was made worthless due to it.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

I think without the Ave, you probably had this covered, the last card had immunity, and your choice of summoner was great. A very easy win.

I don't think I would have won the match without it. The martyred double strike magic monster would have been a disaster after it got cleansed of poison.
