The Splinterlands season ended earlier this week so I want to review my rewards and check up on some things in the game. I have moved to Wild League after the changes to Glint rewards and I have been liking it there. I stayed in Modern League and was able to get more rewards compared to last season. It shows that I could move up a bit further so the reward difference wasn't as large. I am still going to be in modern but I don't really see myself moving over to Wild League at all given my lack of time and the cost of DEC. The new chests being added to the league advancement is good and I was able to collect some extra rewards. I am going with a strategy of purposely losing at the end of the season to get more chests rewards.
Season Rewards
I ended up with 17,110 Glint for last season, which is less than the previous season. I ended up slacking off until the last few days of the season so I think I did well during that push. It's too bad that it wasn't better than the previous season, but at least I reached Gold II. It wasn't as bad moving up there this time around so I wonder if last season was more or less a fluke. Either way, I would say that it's decent for the amount of time that I had.
Above are my rewards from the league advancements. Just like last season, I am getting mainly common and rare cards along with some merits. There were no epic or legendary cards though so my luck just wasn't there. Either way, it's helping to build my common/rare card levels.
This season, I got the above from using my glint. I don't think I can upgrade anything yet but getting another copy of Olivia isn't so bad.
Gladius Packs
I have collected 8 packs since the last time I opened packs. The number of packs is up but I don't think my brawl rewards are any better. Some of the latest brawls have been rough. Maybe I just got lucky with the reward chests from advancing leagues. There were two epic cards so I don't think it was that bad. I was also able to upgrade some cards this time around
I was able to level up Hugo Strongsword to level 6. It has bloodlust, shield and heal and increasing its level increased its health by 1. It's a pretty decent tank because of that heal ability.
The next card I upgraded was Helmet Kharafax and it was also to level 6. It has bloodlust, scavenger and void. Increasing it's level increased its speed by 1 and I think its a decent card when paired with weapons training.
The last card that I upgraded was Krash Wanderford and this card was increased to level 5. It has swiftness, bloodlust, and thorns. Increasing its level increased its speed by 1. I don't use this card often but it looks like it can be useful when paired with weapons training as well.
SPS
My SPS rewards were higher this time because of brawls. The ranked rewards were the major difference and I think its because I won more in the higher leagues rather than getting stuck in the lower leagues.
My pool reward for the season is 102.11 SPS. I plan on staking all of this along with all of my staking rewards for a total of 232.903 SPS. The total SPS was around what I usually expected.
Conclusion
I am still unable to use up all my energy every single day, and it was the first time in a while that I was unable to get more glint than the previous season. The holidays and work have kept me busier than usual so I haven't had as much time. The new system where we get rewards for league advancements has motivated me to try to play a few games a day. I still think that my motivation towards the end of the season is bad and this season has been rough lately. I had to rush my battles during the last few days but I still got to Gold II so I am happy with that result.
