Splinterlands Social Media Challenge: Anasth Soothsayer is great in Noxious Fumes Fights

in #hive-1332320 days ago

Splinterlands is a pretty complicated game with interesting battles with all the options available. This is a part of the weekly social media challenge for Splinterlands. This week is about a great fight where Anasth Soothsayer kept my tank alive long enough to win the match.

Featured cards

Anasth Soothsayer is a water splinter that costs 6 mana. It starts with cleanse ability. It learns tank heal at level 2, lookout at level 4, dispel at level 6, and dodge at level 4. I have this card at level 2 so it has the tank heal and cleanse ability.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is Wands Out, Armored Up, and Noxious Fumes. This means that only magic monsters can be used, all monsters gain +2 armor and start poisoned. There are 36 mana available and I am left with the choice of fire or water splinter.

Kelya Frendul gives +1 armor and speed. Djinn Oshannus is my tank with void and phase to reduce the magic damage. Then I have Riverboat Captain with blast and affliction. I use it for affliction incase there is a healer on my opponent's side. My third monster is Anasth Soothsayer because it will cleanse poison from my tank and heal it. My last monster is Runemancer Kye with flying and life leech so it can survive longer.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I think that I have the advantage. because I should be able to outlast my opponent because of my last monster. However, my opponent does have a lot of strong magic monsters so I am not sure if my tank can last long enough. If it can, I should win this match because of the poison and burn. Otherwise, I will lose. There isn't much suspense in this match so I will move towards the end of the match because both me and my opponent will be trading blows.

Round 3

round 3.png
Three rounds later, my opponent is down to one monster and my monsters are still alive (barely). Unless I miss all my attacks, I have this match won. I was worried about my tank surviving but it was able to stay alive long enough due to the heals and cleanse.

I ended up winning the match later that turn. Two of my monsters did die to poison though so this was still a fairly close match.

Conclusion

The battle this time around went exactly like I expected. Anasth Soothsayer was able to keep Djinn Oshannus alive with the cleanse as well as heals. This let me outlast my opponent. I think that it was a mistake for my opponent to use a monster with burn. It made his lineup take even more damage every single turn and this gave me the slight push to win the match.

You can see my entire match here.

Anasth is my favourite card from water, can be played in almost every teamcomp!

It's a nice card but I don't use it as much.

Oh I never realized this card had healing when leveled... Interesting

The heal makes it worthwhile. If it was just cleanse, I wouldn't use it.

I hate the all magic Ruleset. I think it's because I don't have enough cards to pull it off. But I think the heal card did its just job to keep the Djinn Oshannus in play till the last line

It's a good support monster. It depends on your lineup.
