Splinterlands is a pretty complicated game with interesting battles with all the options available. This is a part of the weekly social media challenge for Splinterlands. This week is about a great fight where I won because of Captain Katie and the damage it can put out.
Featured cards
Captain Katie is a life splinter that costs 7 mana and it starts with snipe and bloodlust. It learns divine shield at level 6. I have this card at level 4 and I use it from time to time. I think it's a great card depending on the situation and the magic snipe damage can be deadly.
Rule set, Battle and Plan
The ruleset this time is Born Again and Armored up. This means that all monsters start off with rebirth and they all get +2 armor. There are 32 mana available and I am left with the choice of life, death, or dragon splinter.
Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
---|---|---|---|
Helios Matriarch | 6 | Summoner | +1 speed and gladiator |
Imperial Knight | 7 | 1st | Void Armor and Heal |
Void Dragon | 5 | 2nd | Void |
Vruz | 2 | 3rd | Sneak and Martyr |
Captain Katie | 7 | 4th | Snipe and Bloodlust |
Venari Marksrat | 3 | 5th | Martyr |
Naga Assassin | 2 | 6th | Backfire |
Total Mana: | 32 |
Helios Matriarch increases my speed by 1 and gives access to a gladiator. My Tank is Imperial Knight due to the void armor and heal. When combined with rebirth, it gives it another chance at tanking a lot of hits. Void Dragon is my backup tank with void. I have Captain Katie in the 4th spot surrounded by martyr monsters. My last monster is Naga Assassin with backfire.
Round 1
At first glance, I think that I have the advantage in this match. My opponent's damage is all spread out and I think that I have more damage compared to my opponent. The only problem would be that Cursed Windeku because of the heal.
Round 3
My opponent lost two monster and that tank got 2 marytr buffs while I got two stacks of bloodlust on Captain Katie. I think my lineup is stronger due to Captain Katie.
Round 6
At this point, Captain Katie stacked another two bloodlust and it will attack that heal tank up front. So I don't think there is any suspense in this match as it is my win.
I won a few turns later like I expected with my Captain Katie destroying my opponent's monsters.
Conclusion
The battle this time around went as I expected. Captain Katie was a great damage dealer as it stacked bloodlust by killing monsters and it was also later buffed by some of my martyr monsters. I was worried a bit at the start due to Cursed Windeku but as Captain Katie got stronger, I became confident. Imperial Knight was also a good tank as that void armor gave it a lot of buffer even after being resurrected. I felt that my opponent's damage was too spread out and that gave me the chance to win this match.
